Patent number: 10357125Abstract: A decorative tree comprises a base, a pole inserted in the base, and plural hoops that are pivotably connected in series prior to complete assembly of the tree. The lowest hoop is attached to the outer rim of the base, an uppermost hoop is provided to connect toward the top of the pole, and one or more intermediate hoops are interposed between the lowest and uppermost hoops. Each hoop has a pivotable connection to an adjacent hoop. The connection of a particular hoop to a lower adjacent hoop is formed on one side of the hoop and a connection of that particular hoop to an upper adjacent hoop is formed on a substantially opposite side of the hoop. Upon complete assembly of the tree, the uppermost hoop is extended toward the top of the tree and the hoops are expanded upward so as to form a decorative pattern of hoops with alternating angular orientations. The hoops may be of one or more shapes and sizes and may be wrapped with light strips to illuminate the tree.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2015Date of Patent: July 23, 2019Inventor: Najeh Rahman

Patent number: 6536916Abstract: A net light set includes a first common wire means extending in a first (horizontal) direction, the first common wire means including lengths of a bypass wire and a return wire. A plurality of series-connected light strings extend physically parallel to each other and in a second (vertical) direction transverse to the first direction. Each light string includes a plurality of lamp sockets and a plurality of intermediate lengths of a single active wire connecting the lamp sockets in series. In each of the light strings intermediate the first and last light strings, the single active wire is twisted together intermediate the lamp sockets only with a first non-wire extending in the second direction for enhanced tensile strength. At least one second non-wire extends in the first direction and physically connects intermediate lengths of each light string with corresponding intermediate lengths of other light strings.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2000Date of Patent: March 25, 2003Assignee: Sienna LLCInventor: Najeh Rahman

Patent number: 6474841Abstract: A twinkle bulb light set includes, alternately from one end of the light set to an opposite end of the light set, at least one standard bulb socket configured and dimensioned to operatively receive a standard or steady-burning bulb and at least one non-standard bulb socket configured and dimensioned to operatively receive a non-standard twinkle bulb. The standard and non-standard bulb sockets are configured and dimensioned to operatively receive only standard and non-standard bulbs, respectively. Preferably the standard bulb socket is smaller than the non-standard bulb socket in at least one dimension such that the standard bulb socket cannot operatively receive a non-standard bulb, and the non-standard bulbs have at least one dimension greater than that of the standard bulbs, thereby to preclude operative receipt of a non-standard bulb in a standard bulb socket.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2000Date of Patent: November 5, 2002Assignee: Sienna, LLCInventor: Najeh Rahman

Publication number: 20020145873Abstract: A ribbon light assembly has in combination a substrate defining a matrix of structural elements and spaced apart apertures there through defined by the matrix, and at least one light string releasably intertwined with substrate. Each light string is formed of a plurality of lamp sockets and a plurality of wires connecting the lamp sockets. Each of the lamp sockets is substantially disposed on one substrate surface, and each of the wires is substantially disposed on an opposite surface. Each lamp socket defines a securing clasp extending from the one substrate surface through a respective one of the apertures and releasably receiving one of the wires on the opposite substrate surface, thereby to releasably maintain the lamp sockets in a fixed pattern on the substrate. The securing clasps receives only the wires and not the structural elements therein.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2001Publication date: October 10, 2002Inventor: Najeh Rahman

Patent number: 6367951Abstract: An economical method of making a net or mesh light with light nodes includes the step of providing a light set having a common wire collection extending in a first direction, the common wire collection including an active wire and a return wire. A plurality of series-connected light strings extend physically parallel to each other and in a second direction substantially transverse to the first direction, each light string including a plurality of lamp sockets and a plurality of intermediate lengths of wire connecting the lamp sockets in series. Plug means are disposed at one end of the common wire collection and include the active and return wires. Then at least one non-electrical rope is physically fastened to the lamp sockets of the plurality of light strings removed a common distance along the second direction from the common wire collection, thereby forming a net or mesh.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2000Date of Patent: April 9, 2002Assignee: Minami International CorporationInventors: Isao Kumada, Najeh Rahman

Patent number: 6135616Abstract: A method of making a net light includes the initial step of providing a light set having (I) a common wire set extending in a first direction, the common wire set including an active wire and a return wire, and (ii) a plurality of series-connected light strings extending physically parallel to each other and in a second direction transverse to the first direction. Each light string includes a plurality of lamp sockets and a plurality of intermediate lengths of wire connecting the lamp sockets in series. A plug is disposed at one end of the common wire set and includes active and return wires. Each of the light strings, except the first and last light string, is disposed in relatively closely adjacent pairs of light strings, each such closely adjacent pair being relatively widely spaced from any other closely adjacent pair, the first light string, and the last light string.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1999Date of Patent: October 24, 2000Assignee: Minami International CorporationInventor: Najeh Rahman
