  • Publication number: 20240179504
Abstract: Techniques, performed by a distributed unit (DU) for a radio access network (RAN) node in a 5G communication network defining one or more cells, are disclosed for dynamically scheduling SIB8 warning messages. In some embodiments, in response to a write-replace warning request for broadcasting a SIB8 warning message, the DU determines a weightage of the SIB8 warning message; determines, based on the weightage, a system information periodicity for the SIB8 warning message and a change of one or both a default paging cycle and a modification period coefficient parameter to establish an initial delay before broadcasting the SIB8 warning message; and schedules a broadcast of the SIB8 warning message with broadcast timing based on the system information periodicity and pre-provisioned default paging cycle and modification period coefficient parameters.

  • Publication number: 20240121859
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments for PWS success indication message exchange on multiple signaling interfaces. In some embodiments, PWS success indication messages are exchanged over the F1 interface between a DU and CU, the N2 interface between CU and AMF, and the service-based interface between AMF and CBCF.

  • Publication number: 20240097922
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for reporting secondary node (SN) data usage in an NR-DC cellular communication for billing different tariffs of a UE's data usage over FR1 and FR2 bands provided by, respectively, a master node (MN) and a secondary node (SN). Also disclosed are details of the messages exchanged in various NR-DC architectures. In some embodiments, an SMF is configured for selecting a CHF from a CHF pool based on various factors.

  • Publication number: 20240073988
Abstract: The disclosed techniques provide UL grant in a proactive manner by gNB or disaggregated RAN towards UE for transmission of RRC reestablishment complete message during RRC reestablishment procedure. Under current 3GPP specifications, there are no PUCCH resources available at UE to transmit SR for requesting UL grant to transmit RRC reestablishment complete. The UE must trigger again a RACH process for obtaining a UL grant for transmitting the RRC reestablishment complete message. This results in RAN inefficiency due to additional signaling and higher latency. The ability to transfer RRC signaling messages in DOCSIS transport environment is further impacted due to added latency. Allocating the UE with a proactive grant improves the RRC reestablishment procedure, as well reduces radio network latency in a DOCSIS transport network. This also resolves radio network impacts arising due to a second RACH attempt for sending the RRC reestablishment complete message.
