  • Patent number: 7493547
Abstract: The present invention provides a coding device of a low-density parity-check (LDPC) code for simply coding information data without generating a code generator matrix. The coding device forms a parity-check matrix having two sub-matrixes. At this time, the first sub-matrix is a random matrix or a structural matrix. The second sub-matrix is a structural matrix having two 1s in each column. Parity data is calculated by using the structural second matrix without calculating an inverse matrix of the second matrix when temporary data is generated by using the first sub-matrix with reference to the information data. Code data is generated from the parity data and the information data and is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 7233635
Abstract: A symbol synchronization apparatus and method for synchronizing symbol digitally is disclosed. In the present invention, digital symbols are generated by an A/D converting unit. Based on digital symbols, a symbol timing value is calculated. The symbol timing value is used for determining a best symbol timing. According to the best symbol timing, a clock phase is determined and A/D converting unit uses newly determined clock for generating digital symbols. As a result, the present invention can perform an over-sampling process in higher resolution than a sampling frequency by using only one A/D converter. Therefore, the present invention may increase economic efficient and reduce complexity of hardware.

  • Publication number: 20060120269
Abstract: The present invention relates to a transmitter in an OFDM system for improving the PAPR, and a method thereof. According to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, channel encoding is performed in order to correct a data transmission error of a radio channel, a predetermined bit of the channel encoded data is bit-inverted by using a mask bit or a mask bit sequence, and a PAPR of the signal is reduced. Accordingly, reduction of transmission efficiency which has been generated in block coding and DSI methods is not generated when the signal is transmitted because an additional bit is not required.
