  • Publication number: 20110023188
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of molecular biology and concerns a method for enhancing yield-related traits in plants by modulating expression in a plant of a nucleic acid encoding a yield increasing polypeptide selected from the group consisting of: phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPC), Class III U-Box protein and PQQC protein. The present invention also concerns plants having modulated expression of a nucleic acid encoding yield increasing polypeptide selected from the group consisting of: phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPC), Class III U-Box protein and PQQC protein, which plants have enhanced yield-related traits relative to corresponding wild type plants or other control plants. The invention also provides constructs useful in the methods of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20100269215
Abstract: An expression cassette of selection marker for plant transformation includes the following sequences that are operably linked in a 5? to 3? direction: (i) a promoter sequence; (ii) a coding sequence for an enzyme which degrades toxoflavin; and (iii) a 3?-untranslated terminator sequence. A method of producing a transgenic plant using the above-describe expression cassette includes (i) transforming plant cells with a recombinant vector that includes the above-described expression cassette to produce transgenic plant cells; (ii) proliferating said transgenic plant cells in a media comprising toxoflavin to produce selected transgenic plant cells; and (iii) growing a transgenic plant from said selected transgenic plant cells.
