The electronic device includes a communication module, a memory and at least one processor, which implements the method, including responsive to detecting a request to update additional data corresponding to detecting a present location, transmitting a request to update the additional data to at least one external electronic device in communicable range of the communication module, receiving the additional data in response to the transmitted request via the first module of the communication module, detecting a validity of the received additional data, and detecting the present location via the second module of the communication module based at least partially on the additional data if the additional data is detected to be available.

Abstract: An electronic device comprises a magnetic sensor, a memory configured to store a first geo-magnetic map and a second geo-magnetic map. The first geo-magnetic map may include geo-magnetic data for each of a plurality of positions at a first altitude in an area and the second geo-magnetic map may include geo-magnetic data for each of a plurality of positions at a second altitude in the area. The electronic device may further include a processor configured to identify an altitude of the electronic device, select one of the first geo-magnetic map and the second geo-magnetic map corresponding to the altitude of the electronic device, compare the selected geo-magnetic map with geo-magnetic data sensed by the magnetic sensor, and provide a position of the electronic device using a result of the comparison.

The photographing apparatus having the auto stabilization function includes a voice coil motor actuator (VCMA) to move a photographing element. In the generation of hand tremor, the photographing apparatus controls compensating of the hand tremor. Because one or more dynamic characteristics according to a structure of the VCMA is considered, saturation or delay of displacement of the VCMA is avoided, and a clearer image is provided.
