  • Publication number: 20180209257
Abstract: A technique for remote pairing of pumps and manifold valves at an oilfield. The technique takes advantage of a control unit having remote capability of opening and closing manifold valves. The control unit may also be in simultaneous communication with an individual sensor for each pump. Thus, unique protocols of valve opening and closing at the manifold in conjunction with monitoring of fluid-based detections by the unit may be used to establish pairing between specific pumps and manifold valves. Similarly, the system may also be inspected for leaks at particular locations through unique valve opening and closing sequences in conjunction with fluid monitoring.

  • Publication number: 20180048544
Abstract: A supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) unit and technique for managing communications over a network of defined capacity. The unit and techniques include safeguarding the network while allowing for operations to proceed at an oilfield. The safeguards allow for multiple additional and different types of equipment to be added to or removed from the network while being managed by a single SCADA unit. This may be achieved through unique filtering protocols which prevent unidentified and/or unconfirmed equipment and devices from being added to the network merely due to be detected at the oilfield.

  • Publication number: 20180045331
Abstract: Systems and method for controlling wellsite equipment, including pumps and a manifold having a low-pressure (LP) manifold, having LP ports with LP valves, and a high-pressure (HP) manifold, having HP ports with HP valves and bleed ports with bleed valves. The pumps are fluidly coupled with the LP manifold via LP conduits and with the HP manifold via HP conduits. Communication is established between a controller and the LP valves, the HP valves, the bleed valves, the pumps, and sensors for monitoring pressure within the HP conduits. The controller is operable to, with respect to each pump, cause the LP valve to transition to a closed position, cause the HP and/or bleed valve to transition to an open position, and determine that the HP conduit is not pressurized based on the information generated by the sensors.

  • Patent number: 7226378
Abstract: A driving device includes a power supply unit and a torque converter. The power supply unit outputs a constant power. The torque converter has a gear train that is connected to the power supply unit and interconnects a flywheel and an input shaft in order to respectively transmit a first part and a second part of the power to the flywheel and the input shaft. The input and output shafts have respectively first and second variable-diameter pulleys on which a belt member is trained. The effective diameters of the first and second pulleys are automatically varied in response to the torque exerted on the input and output shafts to maintain the rotational speed of the output shaft at a constant level while the flywheel compensates for power variation of the output shaft without changing the power of the power supply unit.

  • Patent number: 6731035
Abstract: An apparatus for generating autogenic energy includes a base, a first magnetic device, a second magnetic device and a transmission member. The transmission member is mounted movably on the base. The second magnetic device is connected to the transmission member and is movable together with the transmission member in a predetermined rotational direction by the interaction force of the first and second magnetic devices. The second magnetic device is capable of being disposed adjacent to the first magnetic device in an interaction position and is receives a positive force such that the second magnetic device is rotatable away from the first magnetic device in a first rotational direction to produce an angular momentum. The second magnetic device and the transmission member respond to the inertial force and the positive force to be moved past a counterbalance position without being stopped by a negative force and to continue moving in the first direction back to the interaction position.

  • Patent number: 5164701
Abstract: An apparatus to indicate a car operating condition, which comprises a plurality of red, white and greeen warning lights mounted on the front and rear portions of a car to inform or warn an oncoming car of a trailing car about the existing driving and operation condition of the car on which the lights are installed. A set of red flashing lights is used to warn other drivers that the car is stopped or backing up; a set of white back-up lights provides an additional warning that the car is backing up. A set of green lights is used to advise other motorists that the car is moving forward in an accelerating mode. Two green flashing lights provide an indication that the car is moving forwardly without acceleration. Two continuously-on red lights are used to indicate that the car is being braked. The system of warning lights is designed to warn other motorists of the condition of the vehicle, or impending changes in the vehicle position, so that the other motorists can take action to avoid a car accident.

  • Patent number: 4491824
Abstract: A safety indicator for a vehicle shows the actual status of the vehicle by means of lamps of various colors mounted on the head and tail of the vehicle. A photo-interrupter is used to control the actions of the lamps and headlights by sensing the location of the needle on the speedometer. Switches mounted on the accelerator and brake pedals respectively are used for further control of the lamps. The lamps are serially connected with small bulbs provided on the instrument panel so that driver may check whether or not the lamps and headlights are operating properly.
