  • Patent number: 8962920
Abstract: Cytokinin is a plant hormone that regulates various physiological activities including cell division, cell cycle, cellular senescence, and axillary buds outgrowth. The present invention provides a method for producing a transformed plant by introducing an isolated nucleic acid or recombinant vector containing the isolated nucleic acid into a plant cell such that the amount of active cytokinin synthesized from nucleotide cytokinin is increased in the plant cell and by regenerating a plant body from the plant cell.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 13, 2012
Date of Patent: February 24, 2015
    Assignee: Riken
Inventors: Hitoshi Sakakibara, Nanae Ueda, Takeshi Kuroha
