  • Patent number: 4980183
Abstract: A method and apparatus for preparing a plurality of whole deviled eggs. The eggs are first oriented and stored collectively in a refrigerated area for a prolonged period of time in order to cause the egg yolk to float to a select side of each egg. The eggs are preferably oriented within a container turned upon its side to cause the sides of each egg to face upwardly. An egg carton is but one example. In this manner the egg yolks rise against the upward facing side. The oriented eggs are then steamed in a specialized platter to facilitate the hard cooking of the egg white in the preselected position. The egg yolk is then removed from the peeled egg through the thin portion of egg white exposed thereon. A whole deviled egg is then prepared by removing the egg yolk and stuffing the remaining whole egg with a preselect mix. The specialized platter is then used as a serving tray, wherein the bottom of each egg is flattened to prevent the egg from easily rolling over in the user's plate.

  • Patent number: 4978482
Abstract: A method of melt casting plastic bonded explosives by:A. forming a uniform binder mixture of the following ingredients(1) from 10 to 30 weight percent of a triblock polymer of the formula A-B-A wherein A represents a polystyrene block and B represents an elastomeric midblock which is selected from the group consisting of polybutadiene, polyisoprene, and polyethylenebutylene; and(2) from 70 to 90 weight percent of a low viscosity oil selected from the group consisting of naphthenic, paraffinic, and olefinic oilsby mixing the ingredients under low-shear conditions at a temperature of from 80.degree. C. to 110.degree. C.;B. mixing an energetic filler into the binder mixture under low shear conditions and at a temperature of from 80.degree. C. to 110.degree. C., provided that the viscosity of the mixture does not exceed 20 kilopoise;C. pouring the energetic filler-binder mixture formed in step B into a mold; andD. cooling energetic filler-binder mixture to form a solid explosive composite.

  • Patent number: 4934053
Abstract: A culinary implement system for use with hard boiled eggs in the preparation, storage and handling of whole deviled eggs. The implement comprises a bifurcated cutter adapted for engaging the surface of a shelled hard boiled egg for cutting through to the egg yolk to facilitate its removal therefrom. In this manner a deviled egg can be made from a whole egg rather than the conventional half egg. A storage container is also provided for handling and serving a plurality of whole deviled eggs.

  • Patent number: 4521260
Abstract: An energetic composition useful in transferring detonation through thin cnels in a logic pattern comprises a binder comprising vinyl-terminated polybutadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer crosslinked with a monofunctional unsaturated ester monomer in an amount from about 50 to about 90 percent of the binder weight and a plasticizer selected from the group consisting of dioctyl phthalate, maleate and adipate, isodecyl pelargonate, dibutyl phthalate and maleate in an amount from about 10 to 50 percent of the binder weight, and pentaerythritol tetranitrate in amount from about 76 to 84 percent of the total composition weight. The composition is cured with ionizing radiation in a dose from about 0.6.times.10.sup.6 to 1.2 to 10.sup.6 rads.

  • Patent number: 4397700
Abstract: Diferrocenyl piperazines represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein Fc represents a ferrocene radial R represents alkylene radical hng from 1 to 7 carbon atoms, and x and y are 0 or 1 are disclosed as burning rate modifiers for ammonium perchlorate composite propellants. Coating ammonium perchlorate crystals with the differocenyl piperazines significantly decreases migration of the piperazines in the propellant.
