The antenna is printed with conductive ink or toner, and cross-over may be provided by spot printing a non-conductive material over a portion of the antenna and then printing a conductive cross-over element on the non-conductive material. Typically the antenna is printed on one face of a web, and the radio frequency identification chip is moved into contact with the opposite face of the web so that the contacts penetrate the web and engage the antenna so that the web material acts as a dielectric. Then a label is die cut from the first face of the sheet, preferably after the transfer tape is applied, within the area of the sheet overlying the transfer tape strip, without cutting the transfer tape backing. A coating of less than 2.0 g/m.sup.2 is applied to a portion of the first face of the sheet in an area including the label. The coating is a composition including from about 50 to about 90 parts of a particulate silica and about 10 to about 50 parts of a polyvinyl alcohol, by dry weight. The toner particles comprise a pressure fixable core encapsulated in a pressure rupturable shell with the outer surface of the shell being hydrophobic. Preferably, the outer surface of the shell is rendered hydrophobic by having a thermosetting resin precipitated thereon. The process for producing electrostatographic toner particles comprises preparing a core material, encapsulating a discrete portion of the core material in a shell by interfacial polycondensation, and then treating the outer surfaces of the shells with a thermosetting resin to render them hydrophobic.
