    Abstract: An apparatus for lifting and transporting an invalid from a wheelchair to a bed or other location and back including a sling suspended from a motor driven winch for raising and lowering the sling. The winch is suspended from a motorized traverse mechanism for reciprocably moving the winch and sling along a horizontal track attached to the ceiling of a room for transporting the invalid.
