  • Patent number: 8960031
Abstract: An actuator for actuating movement of a control surface relative to a structure can include a high-efficiency assembly and a low-efficiency assembly. The high-efficiency assembly can be connectable between a control surface and a structure for providing a first load transfer assembly and the assembly can have minimum backlash. The low-efficiency assembly is connectable between the control surface and the structure for providing a second load transfer assembly. The low-efficiency or irreversible assembly can be disposed in parallel relationship to the high-efficiency assembly and can have a higher backlash than the low-efficiency assembly. The low-efficiency assembly can be unloaded in normal operation.

  • Patent number: 7748937
Abstract: A fastener system for connecting a first member to a second member is described. The fastener system includes a flexible shell having therein a flexible reinforcement member in the form of a frame. The shell and frame can be placed through holes in the two members and filled with a filler material that hardens to form a rigid fastener in order to connect the first and second members together. The fastener system and method can be used even when the holes in the two members are misaligned or are of different sizes.

  • Publication number: 20070196196
Abstract: A fastening system to press together 2 work pieces. These are plates with a circular aperture on each plate. The first work piece is engaged to the second work piece through a biased engagement. The receptacle assembly consists of a housing and its mechanical contents attached to the first work piece. The bolt assembly consists of a cylindrical bolt with a head and a shank attached and captured thru a retaining bracket to the second work piece and is moveable with respect to the receptacle assembly between the extended and retracted position. Two or more disc springs inside the housing bias the fastener toward the locked position with a biasing force. The bolt fastener has 2 opposing spiral cam slots machined on its shank and when introduced into the pin ring, inside the housing, will engage 2 radial placed cross-pins in its cam slots. Said cross-pins are seated in the pin ring.
