In these or other embodiments, a grab-zone reinforcement insert is positioned across one or both of a hem channel region and a grab-zone along an outer surface, an inner surface, or between layers of the reinforced thermoplastic bag. In one or more embodiments, the grab-zone reinforcement insert comprises multiple layers (e.g., of a non-woven material). For example, the grab-zone reinforcement insert includes a first and second layer formed by a fold. In other implementations, the grab-zone reinforcement insert includes separate, discrete layers. In one or more embodiments, at least a portion of the grab-zone reinforcement insert is positionally affixed via a hem seal.

The wrap material exhibits an average peel adhesion force, when activated against a surface, between about 1.50 g/in to about 3.25 g/in. The wrap material further exhibits an average roll unwind force, when wound on a roll, between about 1.50 g/in to about 5.0 g/in. The wrap material also exhibits an average blocking force, when contacting itself, between about 0.4 g/in2 to about 1.30 g/in2.

    Abstract: A thermoplastic bag for storing food items may include a first sidewall and an opposing second sidewall joined to the first sidewall to define an interior volume. The first and second sidewalls may be made from pliable, sheet-like thermoplastic web material. The sidewalls may be formed with a pattern of ribs. When a tensioning force is applied to the sidewall, the ribs may open so that the sidewall may become generally more planar. Opening the ribs may cause the sidewalls to stretch or expand thereby adding to the overall area of the bag. The thermoplastic material may have a shape memory characteristic that may cause the ribs to reform after the tensioning force is alleviated.

The bags may have a top defining an opening and a bottom that is closed, wherein the bags are connected such that the bottom of each bag is separably attached to the top of the next bag in the series. The bags may include a closure for the opening of the bag. When the bags are stored in the compartment, the bags may be pulled through the hole of the divider individually, such that the first bag will pull the second bag through the divider.

One of these outer layers may for example be a blend of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and VLDPE, and the other outer layer may be EVA. The film may be fabricated into bags suitable for packaging food articles such as frozen poultry, primal meat cuts, and processed meat products. The bags have high shrink and improved toughness.
