  • Patent number: 10478472
Abstract: This invention relates to the administration of a combination of TGF-? and one or more peptides comprising specific sequences of ?-lacto-globulin. The peptides are hypoallergenic but retain the capability to induce tolerance to the native protein. The combination of TGF-? and one or more of these peptides has the therapeutic effect of inducing and maintaining oral tolerance towards newly introduced proteins, in particular, at the weaning period. The combination can modulate the infant and toddler immune response to allergens.

Date of Patent: November 19, 2019
Assignee: Societe des Produits Nestle S.A.

  • Publication number: 20170000810
Abstract: The present invention relates to a nutritional composition comprising an oligosaccharide mixture, said oligosaccharide mixture comprising at least one N-acetylated oligosaccharide, one galacto-oligosaccharide and one sialylated oligosaccharide for use in reducing the metabolic stress in an infant in the first twelve months of life and/or decreasing gut permeability in an infant in the first twelve months of life and/or promoting a rate of growth in an infant fed with said nutritional composition in the first twelve months of life which approximates to the rate of growth of a breast-fed infant at the same age.

  • Patent number: 8669353
Abstract: The present invention concerns a process for producing compositions that are rich in secretory IgA (S-IgA) by fractionating milk containing S-IgA. Such compositions may be used in particular for treating and/or preventing infections and/or inflammation of the mucosal surfaces, e.g. the gastro-intestinal tract, urogenital tract, respiratory tract, nasal cavity or oral cavity, treating and/or preventing obesity and related diseases, or treating and/or preventing food allergies in subjects in need of such treatment. Briefly stated, the current invention provides a process for producing milk fractions rich in secretory Immunoglobulin A, using one or more microporous membrane filtration steps. A preferred protocol of the present process involves de-fatting, micro-filtration and ultrafiltration-concentration through a number of diafiltration cycles.

  • Patent number: 6924412
Abstract: Methods and processes for raising the concentration of a first class of immunoglobulin relative to at least a second class of immunoglobulin in a compartment of the body of a non-human animal or the progeny thereof, as well as the animals produced by such methods and processes. Such methods and processes provide for the collection of antibodies produced by mucosal surfaces of the animal. Preferably, the production is in the mammary gland. Antibodies can be collected from the milk of the animal. Antibodies may be used for medical and/or nutritional purposes.
