    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the synthesis of a poly (alkyl-co-aryl piperidinium) polymer, which has no aryl-ether bond in the polymer backbone, contains an aliphatic chain in a repeating unit and has a piperidinium group introduced therein, and to the preparation of an anion exchange membrane and a composite membrane using the same. The anion exchange membrane and the composite membrane according to the present disclosure have superior alkaline stability and mechanical properties and very high ion conductivity. Furthermore, they reduce the phenyl adsorption effect of an electrode catalyst and exhibit high water permeability and power density as well as excellent durability. Thus, they can be applied to membranes and binders for alkaline fuel cells or water electrolysis.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a technology of synthesizing an aromatic polyfluorene-based copolymer which has a cross-linked structure, does not have an aryl ether bond in a polymer backbone and has a piperidinium group introduced in a repeating unit, and applying an anion exchange membrane prepared therefrom to an alkaline fuel cell, water electrolysis, carbon dioxide reduction, a metal-air battery, etc. According to the present disclosure, an anion exchange membrane having a cross-linked structure has superior thermal and chemical stability and mechanical properties as well as high water-holding capacity, ionic conductivity and durability, and exhibits a superior dispersed phase.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a membrane electrode assembly for water electrolysis, a water electrolysis cell including the membrane electrode assembly, and a method for fabricating the membrane electrode assembly. An anion exchange membrane of the membrane electrode assembly for water electrolysis includes a polymer having a stable backbone without aryl ether linkages and containing piperidinium groups with high chemical stability and phenyl-based blocks with excellent mechanical properties introduced therein. Due to its structure, the polymer has improved alkaline stability and processability and excellent mechanical properties, based on which the durability of the membrane electrode assembly can be improved. Therefore, the membrane electrode assembly for water electrolysis can be used to manufacture a water electrolyzer with high current density, low resistance, and improved life characteristics.

    Abstract: A novel polyfluorene-based ionomer, an anion exchange membrane, a method for preparing the polyfluorene-based ionomer, and a method for fabricating the anion exchange membrane are proposed. The polyfluorene-based ionomer contains no aryl ether bonds in the polymer backbone and includes piperidinium groups incorporated into the repeating units. The anion exchange membrane is fabricated from the polyfluorene-based ionomer. The anion exchange membrane has good thermal and chemical stability, excellent mechanical properties, and high ion conductivity. Due to these advantages, the anion exchange membrane can be applied as a membrane for an alkaline fuel cell and to a binder for an alkaline fuel cell or water electrolysis.
