  • Publication number: 20050244916
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for predicting antimicrobial activity of a candidate protein by determining the correlation between a multidimensional antimicrobial signature and a multidimensional antimicrobial signature model. The invention also is directed to a method for identifying a protein having antimicrobial activity by screening a library of candidate proteins to identify a multidimensional antimicrobial signature. Also provided by the invention is a method for improving the antimicrobial activity of a protein by altering the multidimensional antimicrobial signature of the protein to increase the similarity to a multidimensional antimicrobial signature model.
