  • Patent number: 4523244
Abstract: A magnetic head with the least cross-talk due to leakage magnetic flux in the shield case accommodating therein the magnetic head, the reduction in the cross-talk being realized by chamfering at least one side of an opening formed in the shield case, which are substantially perpendicular to the travelling direction of a magnetic recording medium, in a slant or arcuate surface form.

  • Patent number: 4434446
Abstract: There is disclosed a magnetic head constructed with a core formed by butt-connecting a plurality of core halves, each having different magnetic flux density or magnetic permeability, and a winding wound around the core, wherein an intense magnetic field is created at the butt-connected portion. One of the core halves has a high magnetic permeability and the other has a high magnetic flux density so as to improve both the output characteristic and reproduction sensitivity of the magnetic head. Further, the core half having a higher magnetic flux density than the other is disposed at the side where a recording medium in motion leaves the head so that a satisfactory recording and erasing magnetic field may be imparted to the recording medium such as metal tape.

  • Patent number: 4245268
Abstract: A magnetic head comprises a magnetic head core having an output winding coiled thereon, a shield case for enclosing therein the magnetic head core, and a compensating coil for removing noise voltage produced in the output winding by external magnetic fluxes passing through the output winding.

  • Patent number: 4205356
Abstract: An erasing head is improved with respect to its erasing ratio as well as its distortion ratio. The erasing head has at least two gap portions one of which is so designed as to apply a high erasing magnetic field sufficient to completely erase information recorded on the tape. The other gap portion is so designed as to apply a magnetic field just intense enough to minimize the distortion ratio.

  • Patent number: 4086639
Abstract: The magnetic head of the present invention has a core thickness set up in accordance with the range of the permeability drop starting frequency of the core material which is determined to reduce the influence imparted to the reproducing frequency characteristic of the head by any minute variation in the technique of making the head gap. The core thickness of the magnetic head may be attained by using a smaller number of superposed layers to form the core than in a conventional magnetic head, and in some cases, a single layer of the core may be used to provide the track width.
