  • Patent number: 7292364
Abstract: When print data is stored as index data, a dedicated FIFO memory is interposed between a data processing circuit before index expansion, and an index expansion circuit, and temporarily stores the index data. The stored index data is read out by specifying a portion required for the process of a printhead, thus improving the memory access efficiency and throughput.

  • Patent number: 5710843
Abstract: In a document processing method and apparatus, having both a communication function and a data processing function, when the communication function is performed during execution of the data processing function, data of the interrupted data processing, which had been stored in a first memory means, is saved in a second memory means pending completion of the communication. When performance of the communication function has ended, a restoring means restores to the first memory means the data so saved. Thus, the first memory means is used both for the communication function and the data processing function.

  • Patent number: 5630167
Abstract: An electronic apparatus includes a plurality of connectors and a plurality of kinds of integrated circuit cards adapted to be connected to the plurality of connectors. Also provided is a device for assigning each of the plurality of connectors to one of the plurality of kinds of integrated circuit cards. The apparatus also includes a memory for storing information on the assigning performed by the assigning device. An instruction device instructs the apparatus to access a desired integrated circuit card of the plurality of kinds of integrated circuit cards. A controller selects one of the plurality of connectors in accordance with the assigning information stored in the memory upon reception of an instruction from the instruction device and makes accessible only the integrated circuit card connected to the selected connector.

  • Patent number: 5583655
Abstract: A data processing apparatus having a communication function includes an editor which edits document data, and displays the edited document data on a display device. An area setting device sets a destination area of an arbitrary sized for destination information into the edited document data, and a generating device generates the destination information and causes the display device to display the destination information on the destination area in the edited document data. A memory stores the edited document and the destination information as different files, and a transmitter combines and transmits the stored document data and destination information to a utilization device.

  • Patent number: 5537525
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a keyboard for inputting data representing information to be processed and for inputting data representing tab information including the location of tabs between two margins, a memory for storing the data representing the tab information inputted by the keyboard, and a central processing unit. The central processing unit defines areas in which the inputted data representing the information to be processed is to be located according to the inputted data representing the location of the tabs between the margins. The central processing unit also assigns an identification mark to each of the defined areas. In addition, the central processing unit specifies an area identified by an identification mark and processes information in the specified area.
