Publication number: 20100324299Abstract: A method of purifying crude pyridine on an industrial scale at low cost and in a simple manner is provided. More specifically, a pyridine purification method including subjecting crude pyridine to an alkali treatment and then to distillation, or a pyridine purification method including adding an acid or water to crude pyridine, and subjecting the resulting mixture to an alkali treatment and then to distillation is provided. According to the purification method of the present invention, crude pyridine can be purified on an industrial scale at low cost and in a simple manner. Moreover, the pyridine purified by this method is useful as a starting material for various organic syntheses because of its high purity. For example, the pyridine can be reacted with chlorine to produce a chlorinated pyridine in a high yield.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 23, 2009Publication date: December 23, 2010Applicant: SUMITOMO SEIKA CHEMICALS CO., LTD.Inventors: Naohiro Yoshikawa, Seiji Bando, Hirotsugu Konishi, Chun Li, Katsuhiko Yoshida

Patent number: 7403303Abstract: The present invention provides a printing system and a printing method that avoids interrupting a printing process in order to execute a calibration process, while stably reproducing colors. A second printer includes a printing engine having a temperature sensor, a density sensor, and a density sensor and a print controller which acquires information from the various sensors in the printing engine to provide calibration process information to a first printer. The print controller includes a density converted characteristic generating section that converts output density values corresponding to density values inputted to the first printer so that the output density values exhibit an ideal characteristic. The density converted characteristic information generating section generates density converted characteristic information. The first printer receives the density converted characteristic information and executes a printing process while carrying out a density conversion.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2004Date of Patent: July 22, 2008Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Naohiro Yoshikawa

Patent number: 7099032Abstract: In performing a printing operation, upon designating the type of paper by inputting it, a paper type table is searched to determine whether the designated type of paper requires a special printing operation, such as reverse feeding and printing. If the above-mentioned operation is required, an appropriate printing operation command is issued. If the above-mentioned operation is not necessary, a normal printing operation command is issued. A determination is also made of whether the designated type of paper requires a special fixing printing, such as cardboard mode fixing. If the above-mentioned operation is required, an appropriate fixing command is issued. If the above-mentioned operation is not necessary, a normal mode fixing command is issued. An image of print data is then formed and printed.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2003Date of Patent: August 29, 2006Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Naohiro Yoshikawa

Patent number: 5737737Abstract: CCP data as common data, which can be utilized by a plurality of users or applications, are stored in a CCP buffer in units of data types (format IDs). More specifically, the CCP buffer stores one CCP data per format ID. Upon reception of a request for CCP data from an application, the system analyzes this request to acquire the format ID of the CCP data requested by the application. The system searches CCP data having a format ID coinciding with the requested format ID from data management information of CCP data. The system passes the searched CCP data to the application, and ends processing. In this manner, CCP data can be stored in correspondence with a plurality of data types, and required CCP data can be easily selected by using its format ID. Therefore, operability with respect to common data can be improved, and work efficiency of users can be improved.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1993Date of Patent: April 7, 1998Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yoshiro Hikida, Yasufumi Takada, Naohiro Yoshikawa, Satoshi Watanabe

Patent number: 5352821Abstract: The present invention is directed to novel 2,5-dichlorophenylthioglycolic acid derivative, a process for their production and a process for producing the desired product 2,5-dichlorophenylthioglycolic acid derived from said novel compounds. 2,5-dichlorophenylthioglycolic acid derivative of the present invention can be obtained by reacting 2,4,5-trichlorobenzensulfonates and thioglycolic acid in the presence of base, and said desired product can be obtained by desulfonating said compound in an aqueous solution of mineral acid. Novel 4-carboxymethylthio-2,5-dichlorobenzenesulfonates of the present invention can be used advantageously as an intermediate for the production of 2,5-dichlorophenylthioglycolic acid. The use of said intermediate makes it possible to obtain the desired product in a decreased process steps with high yield. In addition, it poses no problem of environmental pollution as pointed out with conventional methods because it uses no heavy metals.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1993Date of Patent: October 4, 1994Assignee: Sumitomo Seika Chemicals Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroshi Goda, Nario Kimura, Naohiro Yoshikawa, Katsuhiko Yoshida
