  • Patent number: 6876624
Abstract: A multiplex conversion unit is configured with those functions required for a specific network to which it is more economically applicable. Each OC-12IF circuit pack includes a switch for performing time slot assignment (TSA) between a plurality of high-speed transmission lines and at least a low-speed transmission line. An ADM circuit pack includes a switch for performing time slot interchange (TSI) between the high-speed transmission lines and the low-speed transmission line. In an application to a network requiring the TSI function, the switch of the OC-12IF circuit pack performs only the add/drop multiplex (ADM) operation between the signals input/output by the high-speed transmission lines and the ADM circuit pack, and the switch on the ADM circuit pack performs the TSI operation. In an application not requiring the TSI, the TSA operation is performed using a THRU circuit pack.

  • Patent number: 5896387
Abstract: A multiplex conversion unit is configured with the functions required for a specific network to which it is applicable more economically. Each OC-12IF circuit pack includes a switch for performing time slot assignment (TSA) between a plurality of high-speed transmission lines accommodated in the OC-12IF circuit pack and at least a low-speed transmission line accommodated in at least a DS3IF circuit pack.

  • Patent number: 5757798
Abstract: An image information distribution system is provided for distributing image information via a communication network to subscribers. When a subscriber changes an image information specification channel, the system changes the channel at high speed, shortening the image information wait time. An image information distribution system is also provided for offering a video on demand service. Thus, in the image information distribution system, in addition to image information requested by a subscriber, other image information is also provided for a subscriber accommodation node according to a predetermined image information selection rule. The node includes means for extracting the image information requested by the subscriber from a plurality of provided image information entries, and providing it to the subscriber.

  • Patent number: 5673264
Abstract: An image information distribution system is provided which responds to a control signal from subscribers at high speed by efficiently using transmission lines. Further, an image information distribution system is provided which shortens the wait time caused by shortage of an image information source if a number of subscribers access the same image information. Image information is transmitted between an image information providing node and an image information distribution node at the ratio of 1:1 via ATM connection corresponding to the type of image information and is distributed from the image information distribution node to each subscriber accommodation node at the ratio of 1:N via ATM connection.

  • Patent number: 5159590
Abstract: A multi-slot call relocation control method and system having a multi-slot call switching system and/or transmission equipment constituted by an address control memory, address controller and address location changing circuit whereby address write and read information for a channel memory is controlled. Where unoccupied circuits are 2.sup.N (N: natural number) times the basic switching unit, incoming calls with a maximum of 2.sup.N basic switching units in capacity may not be switched or transmitted by the unoccupied circuits depending on their status involving the presence of other calls. In that case, calls are relocated within a frame using the fewest steps possible. This is achieved by a neural network in the address control memory of multi-slot call switching system A, the neural network learning to output a call allocation pattern such that the number of times calls are relocated becomes minimal.
