    Abstract: An exhaust emission control apparatus for a general-purpose internal combustion engine comprises an exhaust passage allowing passage of an exhaust gas therethrough and having a ternary catalyst, and an air pump for supplying a secondary air to the exhaust passage. The air pump is driven by rotation of a camshaft having a cam for opening and closing an exhaust or intake valve of the internal combustion engine. The drive of the air pump is effected by a pump rocker arm disposed between the cam and a pump shaft of the air pump.
