  • Patent number: 6856846
Abstract: A 3-D modeling system is provided for reducing design costs an efficient drawing checking operation. A number of CAD units and a server are connected through network and can communicate. The CAD unit includes an input device including a keyboard, a mouse device and the like, a computer, forming the center of the system, and a display device. The server stores a working process database including working process information. When checking a drawing for a 3-D model, the computer recognizes the shape of the 3-D model, divides the model into elements based on the shape recognition and determines an optimum working requirement for each element from the working process information. After the determination of the working requirement, if a correction is necessary, a message indicating the need for correction is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20030189566
Abstract: A three-dimensional modeling system comprised of a CAD apparatus provided with an input unit comprised of a keyboard etc., a computer forming the core of the system, and a display unit and a server provided with a three-dimensional model database, a characterizing quantity extraction database, a design rule database, and a shape sample database, wherein the computer recognizes a three-dimensional model as a whole without using attribute information and identifies the corresponding part and also extracts characterizing quantities included in the three-dimensional model for the identified part, applies design rules in the design rule database to the characterizing quantities extracted, and judges if the three-dimensional model complies with the design rules.

  • Publication number: 20020008700
Abstract: In a three-dimensional modeling system, a main computer of a CAD apparatus reads out of a memory a three-dimensional model without corner rounding, and extracts all the sequences of corner rounding for edges to be rounded. After that, the size of corner rounding of each individual edge is registered. Furthermore, a number of the sequences is reduced in accordance with an order of priority defined by the designer. After that, in accordance with the respective sequences, each edge of the three-dimensional model is subjected to corner rounding. When all the sequences have been completed and if the results of corner rounding converge, the solid shape of each finished pattern is displayed. This enables the designer to select a shape matching his intention.

  • Publication number: 20010055013
Abstract: To edit parameter items freely to improve the conveniences in a three-dimensional model design, a three-dimensional model is read from a server, and there are displayed (at Steps 101 to 103) on that three-dimensional model the parameter information (i.e., items of the parameters and their data) which belong to the model or components selected to be edited. After this, the parameter items are deleted (at Step 108) wholly or partially. Moreover, the parameter list in the server is displayed, and the parameter items necessary at this time are selected from the list. After this, the editions of the parameter items are executed (at Steps 109 to 112). In other words, on the various parameter information, there are newly added the items to be needed at this time. After this, the items of the parameters added at this time are registered in the server (at Steps 113 and 114), if they are not registered yet in the server.

  • Patent number: 5528140
Abstract: A rotation angle sensor has a cylindrical rotating member attached to a cam shaft of an internal combustion engine for rotation therewith, and a pickup. The rotating member has a portion formed on its inner peripheral surface for detection of a crank angle. The pickup has a column-shaped support portion and is attached coaxially with the rotating member with the support portion rotatably inserted into a hole which is formed in a casing of the internal combustion engine. A detecting portion provided at a distal end of the support portion is positioned inside the rotating member to detect a position of the crank angle detection portion during rotation of the rotating member and output a signal. The pickup further has an arc-shaped elongate hole which is formed to extend about a central axis of the support portion, so that the pickup is fixed to the casing of the internal combustion engine with a bolt inserted through the elongate hole.
