  • Publication number: 20100242242
Abstract: There is provided a method for manufacturing a piezoelectric actuator where the planar shape is adjusted by subjecting the piezoelectric body layer located on one of the outer surfaces in the two or more piezoelectric body layers to a polarization treatment to control remnant polarization of the piezoelectric body layer. The piezoelectric actuator is used as a drive portion of a piezoelectric drive type variable capacitor. The variable capacitor has high mechanical strength and excellent reliability for a long period of time. The relation between the displacement amount of the piezoelectric actuator and the capacity of the capacitor is stable, and the variable capacity is wide.

  • Publication number: 20070188418
Abstract: An electron-emitting apparatus includes an electron-emitting element having a lower electrode, a dielectric emitter section, upper electrodes having micro through holes, and a circuit for applying a drive voltage Vin between the lower and upper electrodes. The drive voltage is applied between the lower and upper electrodes to set an element voltage Vka, which is a potential of the upper electrode relative to a potential of the lower electrode, at a negative voltage for a charge accumulation period Td to accumulate electrons in the emitter section, and to set the element voltage Vka at a predetermined positive voltage for an electron emission period Th to emit electrons from the emitter section. The drive voltage applying circuit stepwise increases the positive voltage during the electron emission period Th and separately emits the electrons accumulated in the emitter section a plurality of times.

  • Publication number: 20020182097
Abstract: A Roots pump rotates a plurality of rotors by a pair of rotary shafts to draw gas. Each rotary shaft extends through a rear housing member of the Roots pump. A plurality of stoppers are located on each rotary shafts to integrally rotate with the corresponding rotary shafts, and prevent oil from entering a fifth pump chamber of the Roots pump. A tapered circumferential surface is located about an axis of each rotary shaft. Each tapered circumferential surface is located adjacent to an end surface of the stopper and is closer to an oil zone than the end surface is. Each tapered circumferential surface is formed such that the distance between the circumferential surface and the axis of the rotary shafts increases from the side closer to the pump chamber to the side closer to the oil zone. This effectively prevents oil from entering the pump chamber.
