Patent number: 6003999Abstract: A mirror recoil preventing device suitable for a camera has a mirror and a mirror support frame. The mirror support frame movably supports the mirror in movement from a first position to a second position. In a camera having a photographic lens and a range finding element, the mirror guides light from the photographic lens to the range finding element when positioned at the second position. As a first alternative, the mirror support frame has a U-shaped groove at one end thereof. A regulating member is located in the vicinity of the second position to engage with the U-shaped groove when the mirror support frame is at the second position. As a second alternative, the mirror support frame has a leading edge and a trailing edge such that in movement from the first position to the second position, the trailing edge trails the leading edge. A first regulating member is located to be immediately adjacent to the leading edge of the mirror support frame when the mirror support frame is at the second position.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1997Date of Patent: December 21, 1999Assignee: Nikon CorporationInventors: Naoki Kitaoka, Kosho Miura

Patent number: 5576896Abstract: Fitting holes are formed on a line of extension or a substantially vertical bisector in an arranging direction of a pair of lenses of a plastic plate formed integrally with at least the pair of lenses. Correspondingly, bosses are formed protruding from a base body using an adherable material so that a height thereof is larger than a sum of a thickness of the plastic plate and a thickness of a stop plate. Even after attaching the stop plate and the plastic plate to the base body, the bosses are protrudable from the plastic plate. Thus, the plastic plate and the stop plate are fixed in a sandwiched state between the base body and an adhesive agent. The plastic lens having a poor adhesion with the adhesive agent can be surely fixed without increasing the number of parts, and an instability of a positional accuracy due to environmental changes is obviated.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1994Date of Patent: November 19, 1996Assignee: Nikon CorporationInventors: Naoki Kitaoka, Keiji Ohsawa

Patent number: 5500519Abstract: In order to obtain a focus detection device that can perform pupil adjustment accurately in all of a plurality of focus detection areas, field lenses corresponding to each focus detection area in a focus detection device having a plurality of focus detection areas are comprised of separate materials for each focus detection area, and independent adjustment of the eccentricity of the field lens corresponding to each focus detection area is made possible in the plane perpendicular to the optical axis of each field lens so that pupil adjustment can be performed independently for each of the plurality of focus detection areas.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1994Date of Patent: March 19, 1996Assignee: Nikon CorporationInventors: Naoki Kitaoka, Keiji Ohsawa

Patent number: 5485238Abstract: A photographing information setting device includes a first photographing information signal generator for releasing a first signal for varying a photographing information by a predetermined step, in response to the operation of an externally operable first operation member; a second photographing information signal generator for releasing a second signal for varying a photographing information by a step larger than the predetermined step mentioned above, in response to the operation of an externally operable second operation member, which indicates the set photographing information by the operated position thereof; and a signal generator for generating a third signal instead of the second signal when the second operation member is set at a predetermined position. In the device, a photographing information according is set to the first signal when the third signal is generated, or according to the second signal when the third signal is not generated.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 1994Date of Patent: January 16, 1996Assignee: Nikon CorporationInventors: Kosho Miura, Naoki Kitaoka

Patent number: 5479237Abstract: A camera having an information setting apparatus which sets information such as the shutter speed, the aperture value, and the ISO speed of the film, and its purpose is to be able to quickly and accurately perform a manual setting of the information value desired by a photographer to an automatically set information value or to the proximity of the information value. The camera information setting apparatus has a detection unit which detects the external information used during picture taking, an automatic setting unit which automatically sets information related to picture taking based on external information, and a manual setting unit which can be externally controlled and which sets information related to picture taking through manual control.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1994Date of Patent: December 26, 1995Inventor: Naoki Kitaoka
