  • Publication number: 20050167207
Abstract: There is provided a double-deck elevator which does not cause any impacts or vibrations on each cage when adjusting the spacing in the vertical direction between upper and lower cages. Loads on an upper support beam from right and left support arms for hoisting and supporting the upper cage are measured by right and left upper measuring units. Similarly, loads on a lower support beam from right and left support arms for hoisting and supporting the lower cage are measured by right and left lower measuring units. Because the magnitude of the loads on the right and left screw shafts can be obtained correctly, any impacts or vibrations caused on each cage can be prevented when adjusting the spacing in the vertical direction by correctly controlling the drive torque output from right and left drive motors.

  • Publication number: 20040163220
Abstract: A weld portion produced by heat welding and a non-weld portion which does not undergo heat welding are formed on a contact face between an inside face of a stopper portion made of synthetic resin and a surface of a fastener tape. Preferably, a bottom end face of a rear side of the stopper portion is made substantially flush with a rear surface of the fastener tape by heating with pressure. Consequently, embrittlement of the stopper portion is prevented and its fixing strength is secured, thereby eliminating itchy feeling and feeling of discomfort originating from a configuration of the upper stopper portion.

  • Publication number: 20040078937
Abstract: A stopper portion has a minute protrusion on part of an outer peripheral face except a side face in the length direction of a fastener tape. This protrusion is a rib-like protrusion extended linearly in the length direction of the fastener tape formed on a vertex of the surface of a bent portion, a protrusion extended so as to be expanded in a curved shape in the length direction of the fastener tape or a rib-like protrusion protruded along a boundary portion between the bent portion of the stopper portion and a bottom face thereof. Existence of this protrusion not only reduces a sliding resistance when the slider is started but also eliminates prickly feeling and feeling of disharmony originating from a shape of an upper stopper which is a kind of the conventional stopper portion.

  • Publication number: 20040009867
Abstract: This invention is a method of manufacturing oxide porous bodies and components of alumina and magnesia, using alumina and magnesia powders as raw materials, wherein (1) cold isostatic pressure (CIP) of at least 100 MPa is applied to the materials to introduce a plastic deformation with lattice disorder in the surface vicinity without external changes in the particles, (2) by sintering (calcining) the powders with the above described plastic deformation, the microscopic plastic deformation is removed and, at the same time, formation and growth of necks between grains is induced, (3) from the above described steps (1) and (2), a highly porous body with a structure constituted by a three dimensional network of grains connected through the necks is produced.

  • Patent number: 6391055
Abstract: An artificial cornea comprising an optical element made of an optically transparent material, having a front surface and a posterior surface, and a skirt provided so as to support with surrounding at least a part of the optical element, characterized in that the skirt is provided with a flange on its side facing the interior of eyes during implantation of the artificial cornea and the flange radially protrudes outward from the skirt. The artificial cornea can be well compatible with ocular tissue, prevent leakage of intraocular aqueous humor and intraocular invasion of bacteria, reduce stimulation on palpebral conjunctiva and further, inhibit progression of the down growth, and which has no possibility of reduction in transparency of the optical element due to the down growth as well as detachment and extrusion from the implanted state.

  • Patent number: 6221158
Abstract: A header tape for a curtain or the like comprises loop regions for use with a hook and loop fastener. The loop regions cause the header tape to be thicker in these regions. The loops of the loop regions will be pulled out under constant use unless the back of regions are coated by an adhesive. Using the difference in thickness between loop regions and the non-loop region, intermittent coating can be achieved by feeding the header tape through a small gap between a press roller and a coating roller. The gap is chosen so that it is smaller than the thickness of the loop regions but larger than the thickness of the non-loop region of the header tape.

  • Patent number: 5501000
Abstract: A slider inserting apparatus is constructed such that before a concealed fastener chain is threaded through a slider, the front and back and the rear end of a flange portion and the left and right front surfaces and the left and right side surfaces and the fore-end of a guide post are held between a pair of upper and lower slider holders with a locking pawl held in a releasing position. With the insertion of the fastener chain, the back and rear end of the flange portion is freed from engagement with the lower holder to enable passage of the fastener chain through the slider. The slider is still held from different directions by the holders so that in despite of a unique or odd shape of the slider, the fastener chain can smoothly be threaded through the slider.

  • Patent number: 5359754
Abstract: A concealed slide fastener top and stop is formed by wrapping around a edge of a fastener tape with a U-shaped piece of synthetic resin and fusing the U-shaped pieces. The U-shaped piece is fused at its open ends through the fastener tape. The fused-through portion is shifted inwardly from a tape folded-in part, to which a row of fastener elements is attached. The fused-through portion is at an angle different from that of the fastener elements.

  • Patent number: 4629054
Abstract: A slider supplying apparatus, for use with a slide-fastener finishing machine, includes a rail for slidingly supporting a number of sliders in succession from a reservoir, with the opposite wings of each slider body astride of the rail and with a pull tab hanging from the slider body, and a chute defining a guide channel for passage therethrough of the slider bodies and having an upper end portion disposed adjacent to a free end portion of the rail for receiving the successive sliders therefrom. The upper end portion of the chute has a sloping edge engageable with the pull tab of each slider, as the latter slides forwardly on the free end portion of the rail, so as to raise the pull tab perpendicularly to the slider wing. The chute also has a guide slit coextensive with the guide channel for receiving the pull tab of each slider in such raised posture while the slider body is in the guide channel.
