  • Publication number: 20040190080
Abstract: An object of the invention is to obtain a high-quality image by reading an image of an electronic paper with high accuracy. When optically copying the electronic paper, a controller reads out display characteristics such as a reading resolution and a reading light quantity from a display characteristic memory of the electronic paper. The controller performs optical copying processing after setting optimal conditions on the basis of the display characteristics which have been read out from the display characteristic memory.

  • Publication number: 20040189672
Abstract: Objects of the present invention are to facilitate filling out by hand an electronic paper and to realize digitization of contents with which the electronic paper is filled out by hand with a simple structure. A read image is obtained by optically reading a reading-object of the electronic paper. Based on the document information written on the electronic paper and writing-conditions during document writing, which are represented by the document information, a display image of the document in accordance with the read image information is formed. A written image is separated and extracted by converting a density only of pixels among the respective pixels of the read image, whose densities vary in accordance with the document writing and which correspond to a portion, to which ink of a pen for the handwriting is not adhered.

  • Publication number: 20040160409
Abstract: At a host device, attribute information (the presence or absence of an overwriting prohibition and the like) of each of image display mediums (electronic papers) is stored in association with individual identification numbers, which are unique to each image display medium. Hence, when a predetermined image is to be displayed at an image display medium in accordance with input from an operation portion, for example, an image display medium for which an overwriting prohibition has not been written to the attribute information can be selected, and image data can be transmitted to this display medium for displaying the image. Thus, image display at each image display medium can be excellently controlled in accordance with attribute information such as overwriting prohibitions and the like.

  • Publication number: 20040145989
Abstract: A recording medium is structured by a recording layer, which is for storing storage data, and an indication layer, which is for indication information used for identifying the storage data, being laminated together. Writing and deletion are possible at the indication layer. A PC generates inputted storage data and indication information for identifying the storage data, and transmits them to a writing/reading device. The writing/reading device writes the storage data and the indication information to the recording medium. The storage data is written at the recording layer, and the indication information is written at the indication layer. The storage data stored at the recording medium can be easily and correctly grasped.

  • Publication number: 20040113865
Abstract: A holding stand is constituted by a carrying case for holding sheets of electronic paper and a base for uprightly supporting the carrying case that is substantially vertical. From the holding stand, two page fields, each expressing the number of pages of sheets of electronic paper to be displayed and position page field expressing a current page position of electronic paper and incremented on each of the sheets, are added to image data, and the image data is output to the sheets of electronic paper. In each sheets, when the two page fields coincide with each other in comparison between the two page fields, an image based on the image data is displayed in a display region. When the two page fields are different from each other, the position page field is incremented by one, and the position page field is transmitted to the next electronic paper.

  • Patent number: 6467066
Abstract: A simulation method simulates a self-aligned silicide (SALICIDE) process according to heat treatment temperature and changes in the composition of a silicide film during first and second heat treatments. The simulation method separately simulates silicide reactions in the first and second heat treatments according to species (metal or silicon) diffusing through a silicide, to thereby improve the accuracy of simulations.

  • Publication number: 20020048413
Abstract: An imaging device (10) has a card reader (13), a reflective scanner (14) and a film scanner (15). The scanners has a pre-scanning mode of a low resolution and a fine scanning mode of a higher resolution. A preview image is displayed on the basis of image data taken from an original image through the scanner in the pre-scanning mode, and a cropping area of the original is designated on the preview image. An input resolution setting section (26) automatically sets the higher resolution for the fine scanning in accordance with the original size of the cropping area, a print size of the cropping area, and an output resolution of a printer (16). Based on image data taken at the higher resolution from the cropping area of the original image, the printer prints out an image.

  • Publication number: 20020030634
Abstract: There is disclosed an image synthesizing apparatus for producing a synthetic image that consists of a background image and at least a main image superimposed on the back ground image. An input image is displayed in a main display area of a control screen, whereas an outer frame and at least an inner frame are displayed in a sub display area of the control screen in accordance with a selected template. First a crop boundary having a similar shape to the outer frame is displayed on the image in the main display section. The crop boundary is movable on the image and changeable in size. After pasting a cropped area of the image as the background image in the outer frame, a second image is selected and displayed in the main display area. Then, a crop boundary having a similar shape to the inner frame is displayed on the second image, so a cropped area of the second image is pasted in the inner frame, to be printed as the main image.

  • Publication number: 20010025233
Abstract: Plural boundary points are generated on a string on the surface of a material and a first length of a line segment between the boundary points is obtained. Then, the displacement of the boundary point according to a process model and the boundary point is moved by the displacement. A second length of the line segment between the boundary points after the boundary point is moved is found. When the second length is greater than a value obtained by multiplying the first length by a first factor exceeding 1, a new boundary point is added to the line segment whereas when the second length is smaller than a value obtained by multiplying the first length by a second factor less than 1, one of the boundary points of the line segment is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6183146
Abstract: A photographic paper drier device includes a conveyor belt for conveying the photographic paper along a conveying path. A fan or blower dries the photographic paper by application of air thereto while the photographic paper is conveyed along the conveying path. The fan or blower sends the air into an air blow case, which has an air blow wall extending along the conveying path, and being positioned opposite to the photographic paper. Plural outlet slits are formed through the air blow wall, and blow the photographic paper with the air. Each of the outlet slits extends in a crosswise direction crosswise to the conveying path. The outlet slits are arranged in 18 trains arranged along the conveying path. Each of the outlet slits has a length smaller than a width of the photographic paper.
