  • Publication number: 20050135362
Abstract: A communication transfer apparatus and a communication transfer method can transfer communications at low cost without the need of requesting a global IP network to switch any port number. The local internet protocol address of the origin terminal of transfer described in a record relating to a transfer out of the records of the masquerade table that is utilized for an internet protocol masquerade is rewritten as the local internal protocol address of the destination terminal of transfer, while maintaining the global port number of the record.

  • Publication number: 20040162109
Abstract: A mobile communication terminal device which includes a plurality of different communication interfaces that are automatically switched for making a communication. The stable connection is ensured whether the terminal device remains at rest or is moving by monitoring positional information on the terminal device for a moving situation thereof to control a selection from a plurality of physical interfaces. This selection control involves selecting a connection to a narrow range communication such as wireless LAN which is inexpensive and stable when the terminal device remains at rest, and selecting a connection for a communication through a portable telephone which provides a connection over a wider range when the terminal device is moving. Also, a connection for a communication is automatically selected from the positional information, thereby permitting an automatic selection of a connection intended by the user.

  • Publication number: 20040106403
Abstract: In the QoS control system of the wireless LAN network including the wireless LAN access points, and the wireless LAN terminals to be connected thereto, the wireless LAN access point authenticates the user on the basis of the recorded user's authentication information when the user carries out the authentication request from the wireless LAN terminal. The wireless LAN access point is connected to the servers to notify the wireless LAN access point of the information for identifying the wireless LAN terminal and the recorded user's QoS service content through the communication network. The wireless LAN access point and the wireless LAN terminal carry out the priority control in accordance with the priority information of the QoS service from the server. Even when the terminal to be used is changed, if the same user logs onto the certificate server by using the same authentication information, the same QoS service can be offered consistently.

  • Publication number: 20030033173
Abstract: When an application for start of an insurance contract having the contents agreed in advance between a user and an insurance company is made from a portable telephone of the user to an insurance contract computer, the insurance contract computer starts an insurance period and when an application for stop is sent, the insurance period is stopped. An insurance premium is figured out in accordance with a time count of the insurance period. Various kinds of input-troublesome information to be presented to the insurance company at the time of insurance contract are registered in advance in a memory device connected in advance to the insurance contract computer. The portable telephone has the position measuring function and can periodically notify the insurance contract computer of the present position of the portable telephone. The insurance contract computer calculates a moving distance of the user from that position and adjusts the insurance premium.

  • Patent number: 6329794
Abstract: A power supply section includes a capacity detector capable of detecting the remaining capacity in a battery and a controller issuing power consumption reduction instructions to independently operable function devices based on usage priorities thereof. This allows power consumption operations to be performed such as stopping function devices with low priorities first based on the remaining battery capacity. As a result, power to function devices with higher priorities can be maintained. Based on the remaining battery capacity, the controller controls the operations of the function devices and uses a display to show information allowing the operator to identify operable and inoperable function devices as the battery capacity drops.

  • Publication number: 20010004141
Abstract: A vibration isolator includes an upper coupling member to be mounted on a vibrating body, a cup-shaped holder to be mounted on a car body, and a rubber-like insulator which is located between the upper coupling member and the cup-shaped holder to isolate vibrations from the vibrating body. The vibration isolator further includes a main chamber and a subchamber, which are arranged in series with the insulator and in which a liquid, an incompressive fluid, is enclosed, an annular orifice interconnecting the main chamber and the subchamber, a partition member dividing the main chamber and the subchamber, a diaphragm which is made of a rubber membrane-like member and defines a part of the subchamber, and an air chamber formed below the diaphragm. Both the partition member and the diaphragm are entirely formed of rubber-like elastic bodies. This provides a large area for the central flexible portion of the partition member, reducing the manufacturing costs of the parts including the diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 6172991
Abstract: In a communication system, a source node responds to a packet by transmitting a signaling message to an ATM network, containing source and destination network-layer addresses and source and destination transport-layer addresses of the packet. The ATM network includes a filtering table having a plurality of entries each storing source and destination network-layer addresses and source and destination transport-layer addresses. Upon receipt of the signaling message, the ATM network returns a grant indication message to the source node if contents of the received signaling message are identical to contents of one of the entries of the filtering table, and establishes a virtual connection between the source node and a destination node.

  • Patent number: 5920620
Abstract: A communication channel establishing method by which point-to-multipoint or multipoint-to-point connections by a communication network which includes exchanges (switches) can be established at a high speed. When a connection establishment request designating called users 11, 12 and 13 is received from calling user 10, switch 100 retrieves routes to the individual called users and selects switch 102 in the next stage and sends out a connection establishment request to switch 102 designating called users 11, 12 and 13. Switch 102 further retrieves routes to the individual called users and selects switch 103 for called users 11 and 12, but selects switch 104 for called user 13. Then, switch 102 sends out connection establishment requests to switches 103 and 104 individually designating the relevant called users. Any connection establishment request received from a switch of the preceding stage is successively repeated to a selected switch in the next stage until each called user is reached.
