  • Publication number: 20010006908
Abstract: A game image representing an infield as a specific game image in a game space of a baseball game is displayed on a display surface of a monitor 5 as a reference game image. According to the position of a game medium character, for example, representing a baseball which serves as a game situation, the display of the reference game is switched to that of a combined game image. For example, if the ball flies in a direction toward an outfield (outfield direction), the outfield neighboring a partial game image displayed in the half of the display surface in the outfield direction within the reference game image is displayed as an adjacent game image instead of the partial game image. Accordingly, a game situation and a game progress can be easily grasped and a game operation can be more smoothly performed.

  • Publication number: 20010005689
Abstract: A character training control includes setting a character to be trained and its training initial values when a training mode is instructed; obtaining training values to be added to the training initial values of the character by causing the set character to take actions on a monitor in line with a training purpose according to the operation of a plurality of operable buttons; giving a plurality of kinds of items to the character which are prepared in advance and influential to sums of the training values in relation to at least one of the trained state of the character and action instructing operations given to the character by the operable buttons; judging whether training has been successful; and transferring the data of the successfully trained character to the external side together with the training initial values and the given items when a transfer mode is instructed. The control enables realization of an interesting and ingenious game.

  • Patent number: 6244496
Abstract: A connected structure includes a supporting member and a bushing mounting member connected thereto. The supporting member is made of a pipe having a round cross-sectional shape. The bushing mounting member includes a bushing mounting portion for mounting a bushing having a rubber elastic member and a connecting portion protruded from the bushing mounting portion. The connecting portion is press-fitted into an opening at one end of the supporting member, and the connecting portion and the supporting member are joined together along a circumference of the supporting member by a friction agitation joining method. Accordingly, the connecting member which is light in weight and high in strength with an improved efficiency for utilizing the surrounding space and a predetermined characteristics of a bushing can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6227432
Abstract: A friction agitation jointing method of workpieces for subjecting the workpieces made of metals having deformation resistance or melting points different from each other to friction agitation jointing in which two of the workpieces are subjected to the friction agitation jointing while forming a peak of friction agitation force or temperature on a side of the workpiece having a larger or a higher one of the deformation resistance or the melting points relative to a bond interface between the two workpieces.

  • Patent number: 6217251
Abstract: A joining structure for joining adjacent members includes a first member and a second member. One end portion of the first member is joined to one end portion of the second member such that protruded portions formed on the one end portion of the first and second members are engaged with corresponding dented portions formed on one end portion of the second and first members, respectively. A hollow joining member is fitted on a joined portion of said first and second members and crimped on the joined portion.

  • Patent number: 6125539
Abstract: A process for producing a vibration isolator. The process involves steps of forming an intermediate product including an axial member, an outside member having a cylinder-shaped portion and a rubber elastic member, and drawing the cylinder-shaped portion with a drawing apparatus provided with a drawing hole at least by pressing the cylinder-shaped portion into the drawing hole. The drawing hole has a predetermined dimensional diameter being smaller than an outer peripheral diameter of the cylinder-shaped portion. Thus, the cylinder-shaped portion is reduced diametrically to plastically deform. The production process can obviate the conventional pressed-in construction in which metallic members contact with each other, can make the manufacture of the vibration isolator easy, and can reduce the manufacturing cost.

  • Patent number: 6120374
Abstract: A manual controller of a video game system has a plurality of control switches for controlling the motion of an image displayed on a display screen, and an analog joystick for designating a point in a given area on the displayed image. When the analog joystick is operated by the game player of the video game system, it is tilted to a position in a desired direction in a two-dimensional plane, and outputs a positional signal depending on the tilted position thereof. A coordinate transforming unit converts first and second two-dimensional coordinates of the tilted position respectively into third and fourth two-dimensional coordinates of an image position with respect to a predetermined reference position on the displayed image, with a first conversion constant for converting the first coordinate into the third coordinate and a second conversion constant, which is different from the first conversion constant, for converting the second coordinate into the fourth coordinate.

  • Patent number: 6094818
Abstract: A process for producing a vibration isolator includes the steps of preparing an axial member, an outside member, the outside member including a cylinder-shaped portion and a bracket having a hollow, and a cylinder-shaped rubber elastic member, and drawing the cylinder-shaped portion by inserting a stationary mold, with which a drawing apparatus is provided, into the hollow of the outside member so that an outer peripheral surface of the cylinder-shaped portion contacts with the stationary mold, by disposing the rubber elastic member and the axial member inside the cylinder-shaped portion, and by pressing the cylinder-shaped portion onto the stationary mold and simultaneously diametrically reducing the cylinder-shaped portion to plastically deform the same. The production process can obviate the conventional pressed-in construction in which metallic members contact with each other, can make the manufacture of the vibration isolator easy, and can reduce the manufacturing cost.

  • Patent number: 5979742
Abstract: In a friction agitation joining method for joining metallic joining members, a joining device having a column-shaped rotor of a larger diameter and a pin-shaped probe of a smaller diameter integrally formed on an end of the rotor and protruded along an axis of the rotor is used for joining the metallic joining members. The probe is rotated and inserted into or around a butted portion of the joining members to soften a contact portion contacted by the probe by friction heat and to agitate the contact portion so that the joining members are butt joined. Each joining member has a thick portion at a butting side thereof The rotating rotor is contacted to the thick portions under pressure to soften the thick portions by friction heat so that a gap formed at the butted portion is filled with the materials of the softened thick portions.

  • Patent number: 5885156
Abstract: A game cartridge is inserted into a game device, and a controller is operated to display and perform a game stored in the game cartridge on a display monitor. The game cartridge has a ROM for storing a game program and a RAM for storing data of a play character having unique abilities. The controller is operated to instruct a play character to repeat various patterns of speech and action to increase the number of "remaining experience credits". Obtained "remaining experience credits" are assigned to abilities of the play characters to achieve desired ability values for thereby growing the play character until it develops unique abilities.
