  • Patent number: 5433815
Abstract: Method of transferring and setting bead part assemblies for tires, which comprises providing a bead part assembly stocking part in which a number of bead part assemblies is stacked one on top of the other in tiers through separators, an emptied separator collecting part disposed in the proximity of the bead part assembly stocking part, a tire building machine for thereon receiving bead part assemblies and building tires, bead part assembly holding means for picking up bead part assemblies one at a time and a separator holding means for picking up the separators one at a time; the step of causing the bead part assembly holding means to pick up a bead part assembly from the bead part assembly stocking part and carry the picked-up bead part assembly to the tire building machine and the step of causing the separator holding means to pick up a separator from the bead part assembly stocking part and carry the picked-up separator to the emptied separator collecting part.

  • Patent number: 4985100
Abstract: A process for building pneumatic radial tires comprising (a) a step of switching a first building drum at a first building position and a second building drum at a second building position in a turret manner by turning a body of a building machine, (b) a step for forming a belt cover layer at said second building position by winding at least one fiber cord continuously and spirally on a reinforcing belt that has been previously wound on the building drum, (c) a step for completing a belt-tread assembly at the first building position by winding a cap tread on a belt cover layer that has been previously been wound on the building drum at the second building position concurrent with the operation for winding the fiber cord that is being carried out at the second building position, removing the tire belt-tread assembly from the building drum, and newly winding a reinforcing belt on the building drum from which the belt-tread assembly has been removed, and (d) repeating said steps (a), (b) and (c).

  • Patent number: 4198906
Abstract: The system is used for imprinting indentification code on individuals of articles such as automobiles produced in quantity, particularly on an assembly line, and comprises an instruction unit to provide a data signal representing an identification code to be imprinted, a stamping machine in which setting of imprinting types is performed automatically according to the data signal, a sensor which provides a signal representing an actual state of the type setting, and a comparator which provides an operation signal to the stamping machine only when the signal from the sensor agrees with the data signal and otherwise provides an alarm signal. For further accuracy of imprinting operation, the system may include a sensor to detect the type of the individual article to be imprinted and another comprator to prevent the action of the stamping machine also when the type of the article differs from one implied by the data signal.

  • Patent number: 4183462
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for diagnosing a fault in a sequence control system performing control in accordance with a predetermined sequence, wherein memory means having bits corresponding to respective ones of a plurality of predetermined sequence steps is provided. The sequence of steps actually applied to an object to be controlled are sequentially stored in corresponding bits. Each time a sequence step is applied to the object to be controlled, the contents of the memory means are checked to see whether or not any of the sequence steps applied thus far have been skipped. If any sequence step has been skipped, a fault is determined. Preferably, a fault is also determined when any of the intervals of sequence steps successively applied exceeds a predetermined length of time. Upon determination of a fault, the sequence step associated with the fault is identified, and the control circuit associated with the sequence step in fault is preferably displayed.
