  • Patent number: 5750974
Abstract: A lighting apparatus includes: a plurality of light emitting diodes; a printed circuit board on which the light emitting diodes are arranged in one row; and a rod-like projection lens disposed in front of the light emitting diodes along a light emitting direction, for irradiating an object with light in a strip-like manner. Each of the light emitting diodes is a chip-type light emitting diode which has a substantially parallelpiped shape and which comprises a light-emitting face and a pair of electrode faces. The light-emitting faces are in a plurality of planes which are perpendicular to one common plane, respectively. An optical information reader has the lighting apparatus.
