  • Patent number: 6417984
Abstract: A magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus for magnetically recording information to and/or reproducing information from a recording medium, the magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus having an electrically grounded tape cassette loading/ejecting mechanism, the tape cassette loading/ejecting mechanism including a chassis adapted to be electrically grounded, a cassette holder for loading a tape cassette into and/or ejecting a tape cassette from the apparatus, a slider cam assembly mounted on the chassis and mechanically coupled to the cassette holder for moving the cassette holder to and from a predetermined loading position inside the apparatus, and a static electric charge removal mechanism electrically connected to the cassette holder for removing a static electric charge from the cassette holder.

  • Patent number: 6404583
Abstract: A magnetic tape recording/reproducing apparatus has a tape loading mechanism which performs a tape loading operation by moving a post from an original position to a loading position so as to extract a magnetic tape from a loaded cassette and a tape unloading operation to return the magnetic tape to within the cassette, the tape loading mechanism comprising a spring member, the spring member being disposed so as to deform during the tape unloading operation, the tape unloading operation terminating after the spring member deforms, the deformed spring member urging the post to return to the original position. The tape unloading operation terminates after the cam plate returns to an original position and the drive cam plate moves relative to the cam plate while the spring member deforms. Hence, the post is urged by the spring and securely returns to its original position.

  • Patent number: 6398095
Abstract: A magnetic tape recording/reproducing apparatus has a capstan tilt adjustment mechanism for adjusting the tilt of the capstan so that a magnetic tape runs substantially smoothly and without damage to the edges of the tape. The capstan tilt adjustment mechanism has a support plate for pivotally supporting the capstan, first and second supporting parts positioned on both sides of the capstan and which pivotally support the support plate with respect to a chassis, and an adjusting screw mechanism for pivoting the support plate with respect to the chassis. The first and second supporting parts are composed of a wedge-like supporting base portion formed on the chassis and a countersunk screw that passes through a hole in the support plate and screws into the supporting base portion. The supporting base portion has a rigidity that prevents movement of the support plate in a direction perpendicular to this surface.

  • Patent number: 6369976
Abstract: A magnetic tape recording/reproducing apparatus adapted for loading a magnetic tape cassette has a magnetic head, a magnetic tape loading mechanism that loads and unloads a magnetic tape cassette and loads and unloads a magnetic tape within the magnetic tape cassette to the magnetic head, the magnetic tape loading mechanism assuming a plurality of operating states and an optical detector for optically detecting a shifting of the magnetic tape loading mechanism from one operating state to another operating state. By using non-contact type optical detectors instead of contact-type detectors to detect a shift of operating states from one state to another, the reliability of detection readings can be improved and at the same time the problem of wear on the conventional electrode pattern can be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5519288
Abstract: A powder type electroluminescent (EL) device comprises a step-up circuit for charging a capacitive EL element during a charge period, discharge transistor for discharging electric charge from the EL element during a discharge period, a voltage detector for detecting the predetermined voltage of the EL element to generate a charge-up signal, and a control section for starting the discharge period responsive to the charge-up signal. Even if the equivalent capacitance of the EL element decreases or the loss in the EL element increases with an enviromental condition, deterioration in luminous intensity does not arise. Accordingly, a longer life of the EL device can be obtained.
