Abstract: This vehicle door handle device includes: a door handle provided to a vehicle door and shiftable between a stored state of being stored in the vehicle door and an exposed state of being exposed from a surface opening of the vehicle door, the door handle being configured to allow an opening operation of releasing a latch of the vehicle door in the exposed state; a door handle actuator configured to shift the door handle between the stored state and the exposed state; an abnormality detection unit configured to detect abnormality of a vehicle; and a control unit configured to control the door handle actuator so that the door handle shifts from the stored state to the exposed state when the abnormality is detected.
