  • Patent number: 7601775
Abstract: The present invention has for its object to provide a fire retardant resin composition which is not only halogen-free and, hence, eliminating the adverse effect to the environment and human physiology but also reflecting an excellent fire retardancy imparted to a polyphenol having inherently favorable physical properties and heat resistance. The present invention is a fire retardant resin composition comprising a polyphenol compound and an inorganic microfine particle, wherein said polyphenol compound has such a structure that aromatic units each having at least one phenolic hydroxyl group are connected to one another through an organic unit containing two or more carbon atoms, and said inorganic microfine particle is a product of hydrolysis and condensation of an alkoxide compound and/or a carboxylic acid salt compound.

  • Patent number: 6727315
Abstract: The present invention provides: a copolymer for cement admixtures which displays high dispersibility with a small adding amount and excellent dispersibility particularly even in a high water reducing ratio area, a cement admixture utilizing the copolymer, and a cement composition, and further, a production process for the copolymer. The copolymer for cement admixtures comprises: constitutional unit (I) derived from unsaturated polyalkylene glycol ether monomer (a) having an alkenyl group having 5 carbon atoms and an oxyalkylene group having 2 to 18 carbon atoms with an average addition number of moles of the oxyalkylene groups to be in the range of 10 to 300; and constitutional unit (II) derived from unsaturated monocarboxylic acid monomer (b). The cement admixture includes the copolymer for cement admixtures as an essential component, and may further include a defoaming agent. The cement composition includes the copolymer for cement admixtures, and cement as essential components.

  • Patent number: 6410810
Abstract: A mixture of bis- and tris(fluoroaryl)borane compounds expressed by General Formula (1) below is handled in the form of a slurry made with a hydrocarbon solvent: where each of R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 independently represents a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, a hydrocarbon group, or an alkoxy group provided that at least one of R1-R5 represents a fluorine atom, X represents a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, or an iodine atom, and wherein n represents 2 for the bis(fluoroaryl)borane compounds and 3 for the tris(fluoroaryl)borane compounds. Then, a hydrocarbon solution of the (fluoroaryl)borane compounds having a concentration of the tris(fluoroaryl)borane compounds in a range between 1 wt % and 1 wt % is prepared by dissolving the slurry into a hydrocarbon solvent in a virtually air-tight vessel.

  • Patent number: 6281389
Abstract: A solution containing an organic solvent and a compound including impurities, represented by, for example, general formula (1) (wherein R1 to R10 independently represent H, F, a hydrocarbon group or an alkoxy group, at least one of R1 to R5 is F, at least one of R6 to R10 is F, M is H, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or alkaline earth metal halide, n is 3 or 4, and m is 2 when M is an alkaline earth metal, or m is 1 when M is the other) is mixed with water. The purified compound is reacted with a compound which forms a monovalent cation seed to prepare a derivative. Thus, a purifying method capable of efficiently and easily separating and removing colored components contained in tetrakis(fluoroaryl)borate compounds can be provided. Moreover, it is possible to provide a method capable of preparing a highly-pure tetrakis(fluoroaryl)borate derivative efficiently and at low costs.
