  • Patent number: 8019997
Abstract: The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus by which a communication channel providing a high degree of privacy is established between a PDA and a data communication server. Data encrypted with a temporary key is shared by a PDA and a memory card. The memory card decrypts the data by the shared temporary key, and then stores the data in the memory card. Data encrypted with a temporary key shared by a PC and the memory card. The PC decrypts the data by the shared temporary key, and then stores the data in the PC. The PC and the data communication server are connected to each other, and perform mutual authentication. The data encrypted with a temporary key shared by the PC and the data communication server as a result of the authentication is transmitted from the PC to the data communication server via a broadband network.

  • Patent number: 7299199
Abstract: The present invention relates to an information-processing system, an information-processing apparatus and an information-processing method. At a step S1, a PDA transmits a request for purchase of a content to a server. At steps S11, S12 and S14, the server receives the request for purchase of a content from the PDA and transmits the content to the PDA. At a step S5, the PDA transmits a request for preservation of the content to the server. At a step S16, the server generates a preservation ID based on a user ID for identifying the user of the PDA and based on a content ID for identifying the content, and issues the preservation ID to the PDA. At the next step S17, the server stores the issued preservation ID in a preservation-ID database by associating the preservation ID with the content ID. At a step S6, the PDA receives the issued preservation ID from the server and stores the preservation ID in a memory. The present invention can also be applied to an information management system.

  • Patent number: 7243084
Abstract: An information processing apparatus for receiving data, such as content data. During the time the content data is being downloaded by a terminal over a communication network, the volume of downloaded data being displayed is made smaller than the actual volume of the content data. When the download processing has substantially come to a close, the data volume is displayed to be 80% on a display unit. The user is able to interrupt the processing partway until the data volume indicating the completion of the downloading is displayed to be 80% on the display unit. After the downloading has come to a close, the operation of an interrupt button or of a power supply button is inhibited to enable reliable billing processing.

  • Patent number: 7215779
Abstract: The present invention is intended to quickly download contents while preventing unauthorized contents usage. PD authentication program authenticates telephone-integrated terminal device. Server authentication program authenticate key server. Server LCM controls the reception of a request for data for identifying key server and a key from telephone-integrated terminal device. On the basis of the data for identifying key server, server LCM sends a request for the key to key server and receives the requested key from key server. Key distribution program sends the key to telephone-integrated terminal device.
