  • Patent number: 4958639
Abstract: An ultrasonic therapeutical apparatus observes the interior of a living body utilizing an ultrasonic wave, allows a location signal to be generated on the basis of an output from the observation system, and controls a focus shifting system in accordance with the location signal. Subsequently, a shock wave generating system is driven to generate an ultrasonic shock wave, which is directed to a focal point, thereby crushing a calculus.

  • Patent number: 4955366
Abstract: A ultrasonic therapeutical apparatus comprises a plurality of ultrasonic vibrators which are disposed in a plurality of concentric circular rows and defining a ultrasonic shock wave generator. The apparatus also includes control means for independently controlling the frequency and the phase with which the ultrasonic vibrators in the respective raws are driven as well as the output levels thereof, thereby allowing only a positive pressure of the resultant ultrasonic wave to be increased while suppressing a negative pressure thereof to eliminate a cavitation effect.

  • Patent number: 4836211
Abstract: A medical treatment apparatus utilizing ultrasonic vibrations includes an ultrasonic vibration generator having an ultrasonic oscillator with a first through-hole formed therein. A liquid supply device is communicated with one end of the first through-hole, and a second through-hole of a horn mounted on the ultrasonic vibration generator is communicated with the other end of the first through-hole. A transmission member for transmitting ultrasonic vibrations is connected to a front portion of the horn, and a tube member is arranged to surround the transmission member. A passage formed between the tube and transmission members is coupled to the second through-hole by coupling members, and the transmission member is slightly protruded from the distal end of the tube member. Therefore, a sufficient amount of the liquid supplied from the liquid supply device can be flowed through the passage.
