Abstract: A consumable memory of a consumable stores type information and first information. The type information indicates whether the consumable is a contract consumable or a normal consumable. The contract consumable is usable when a contract for an image forming apparatus is made. The normal consumable is usable regardless of whether the contract is made. The first information indicates whether the consumable is a new consumable or a used consumable. An external memory is physically connectable to a main housing from outside the main housing. A controller is configured to: determine whether the type information is information indicating the contract consumable; and in response to determining that the type information is information indicating the contract consumable, store second information in the external memory. The second information is information for permitting a use of the consumable in another image forming apparatus different from the image forming apparatus.

The determination section determines whether a pair of the first sheet and the second sheet is eligible for the high-speed duplex printing based on the combination of the length of the first sheet and the length of the second sheet before the second sheet conveyed by the reconveyer. The controller controls the printing section to convey the first sheet and the second sheet to the reconveyer when the pair of the length of the first sheet and the second sheet is eligible for the high-speed duplex printing, and controls the printing section to eject at least one of the first and the second sheet when the pair of the length of the first and the second sheets is not eligible for the high-speed duplex printing.

The sheet-ejection controller controls a recording sheet closer to the sheet outlet in the direction of sheet-conveyance along the sheet feeding path to be ejected prior to a recording sheet further from the sheet outlet when cancellation of the print job is entered during a double-face printing operation, in which the images are formed on one side of N pieces of recording sheets continuously and the other side of M pieces of recording sheets thereafter, whilst M is smaller than or equal to N.
