Patent number: 4152168Abstract: A process comprising the steps of adding an inorganic foamed aggregate, an inorganic solid aggregate and a reinforcing fiber to cement to prepare a cement mixture, kneading the cement mixture with addition of 3 to 15% by weight of water based on the mixture to obtain a relatively hard kneaded mixture, press-molding the kneaded mixture at pressure of 200 to 600 kg/cm.sup.2, adding water to the molded piece to adjust the water content thereof, preheating the molded piece at a temperature of 40.degree. to 70.degree. C. before curing, spraying to the surface of the heated molded piece an aqueous dispersion prepared from resin and cement-type coloring material and containing inorganic particles 0.1 to 1.5 mm in size, drying the coated piece, applying a colored resin composition to the coating, and curing the resulting piece in an autoclave with pressurized steam, whereby a colored roofing panel or like cement product can be prepared.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1977Date of Patent: May 1, 1979Assignee: Kubota Ltd.Inventors: Naomichi Yano, Kuniaki Sato

Patent number: 4150933Abstract: An apparatus for molding roofing panels having an insert portion extending from one end of the main body of the panel and offset stepwise from the surface of the main body. The apparatus comprises a lower die divided into a die segment for forming the insert portion and a die segment for forming the main body which have cavities conforming to the shapes of the insert portion and the main body of the panel respectively, and a movable hopper disposed to the front of the insert portion die segment and adapted to feed a material in a specified thickness. The main body die segment is initially held in its raised position with the bottoms of the two die segments positioned at the same level, and the movable hopper is reciprocated to feed the material into the combined cavity of the lower die to a uniform thickness. Subsequently an upper die is lowered into the lower die cavity to press the material, with the main body die segment also lowered by the amount of the offset of the panel insert portion.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1978Date of Patent: April 24, 1979Assignee: Kubota Ltd.Inventors: Naomichi Yano, Kazuhiro Shinohara, Joe Sato
