  • Publication number: 20070188424
Abstract: It is an object of the invention to provide a portable terminal device in which a display of a high visual effect can be performed. The portable terminal device of the invention has: plural light emitting elements 11; and a controlling section 21 which selectively drives the respective plural light emitting elements 11 to cause the plural light emitting elements 11 to perform a matrix display based on display data.

  • Patent number: 5569965
Abstract: A control method applicable to a battery-driven portable device such as a portable radio telephone device for suppressing quiescent currents appearing when the device is not under operation, thereby extending the useful service life of an external power source such as a battery. In one example, required power inputs supplied to power input terminals for activating the total device system act as trigger inputs to a power control circuit including a pulse generator circuit, thereby generating a pulse during only a period controllably determined by a CR time constant circuit connected additionally to the pulse generator, and a CPU confirms sufficient conditions required for activating the system on the basis of outputs appearing on ports of the power control circuit.

  • Patent number: 5335263
Abstract: In order to reduce volume and weight of a power supply of a compact portable telephone set and thus reduce volume and weight of the compact portable telephone set itself, a P-channel power MOSFET is used as a power switching element, and a negative voltage, for example, -11 volts is applied across a source and a gate from a DC/DC converter to turn on the P-channel power MOSFET so that power is supplied from a battery 2 which serves as one power supply. When the gate and the source of the power MOSFET are maintained at the same potential, the power MOSFET is turned off and power is supplied from another power supply.
