  • Patent number: 7054018
Abstract: Printing equipment for processing relevant print requests from a plurality of host devices in parallel and its printing control method. A plurality of logical printers are provided in one unit of physically existing printing apparatus and one logical printer is allotted to each one of host devices so that processing of the print data from a plurality of host devices can be carried out in parallel. One virtual host interface exists for each logical printer and this host interface establishes session with the corresponding host device to transfer data. Each logical printer independently takes charge of emulation, respectively. Operating a plurality of logical printers in one unit of printing apparatus realizes multi-session and multi-emulation.

  • Patent number: 6166823
Abstract: A printing apparatus and a printing method for the printing apparatus, along with a paper ejecting position control method and apparatus of the printing apparatus are provided wherein a print control unit is provided with an instruction evacuating area and a paper ejection evacuating area both for storing information associated with the ejecting position. The ejecting position is contained in an instruction provided to a printing portion based on offset information and contents stored in the instruction evacuating area. The contents of the paper ejection evacuating area are updated based on ejecting position contained in the instruction provided to the printing portion. The paper ejection evacuating area is updated based on the actual ejecting position, and the contents of the instruction evacuating area are updated based on the contents of the paper ejection evacuating area in a recovery after printing failure occurred, therefore, paper can always be ejected to the proper position.

  • Patent number: 5937959
Abstract: A conveyance apparatus, and more particularly, an improvement of a transfer aid mechanism which allows a patient to be transferred from a bed to a wheelchair, for example, is disclosed. The transfer aid mechanism according to the invention includes casters disposed at four locations on a frame, and a drive mechanism which is elevatable with respect to the frame. When required, the drive mechanism is lowered to bring its drive wheel into contact with a floor, and when the drive wheel is driven for rotation under this condition, the transfer aid mechanism may be moved back and forth by utilizing the drive wheel alone. Accordingly, a travelling movement of the transfer aid mechanism is facilitated if there is a carpet laid over the floor or there is a step in the floor.
