Patent number: 8434458Abstract: A timing transmission mechanism (T2) in an engine is formed of a chain transmission system (C) that is formed from a drive sprocket (20) mounted on a crankshaft (4), a driven sprocket (25) mounted on a pump input shaft (24) of a high pressure fuel pump (P), and a chain (22) wound around the drive sprocket (20) and the driven sprocket (25); and a gear transmission system (G) that is formed from a drive gear (26) mounted on the pump input shaft (24) coaxially with the driven sprocket (25) and a driven gear (27) mounted on a camshaft (13b) and meshing with the drive gear (26). This enables a timing transmission mechanism to be provided that can increase the degree of freedom in layout of the high pressure fuel pump without causing any increase in the number of components, the weight, or the backlash.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2009Date of Patent: May 7, 2013Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masaru Asari, Naoto Hirayama, Aritoshi Imazato, Kentaro Yamada, Takeya Harada, Yoshihiro Fujiyoshi

Publication number: 20120199096Abstract: A cover member fastening method and fastening structure are provided which can surly fasten and fix an abutting portion needing firm abutment and fixing and suppress a deformation of the cover member while suppressing a transmission of vibration to the cover member by further reducing the contact area with an engine body. In a fastening structure for a head cover (2) fastened to a cylinder head (1) by a fastening member (7) so as to cover the upper face of the cylinder head (1), an abutting portion (27) that abuts the upper face of the cylinder head (1) is formed on the internal face of the head cover (2). The lower face of a head-cover-side fastening boss (26) protrudes beyond the lower face of a head-cover-side attaching flange (22).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2010Publication date: August 9, 2012Applicant: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shohei Mikami, Naoto Hirayama, Yasuhiro Hisano

Patent number: 6437918Abstract: A large number of microscopic recess portions are formed on a surface of a glass substrate in a single dimension or two dimensions by conducting a wet etching through a mask. The large number of microscopic recess portions are aligned densely by again conducting the wet etching but not through the mask. A separating agent is applied upon the surface of the glass substrate and a light-curable or heat-curable resin material of high refractive index is applied thereon. The high refractive index resin material is cured, after piling a first glass substrate upon the high refractive index resin material so as to extend the high refractive index resin material thereon. The high refractive index resin material which is cured and the first glass substrate are separated from the glass substrate, and a low refractive index resin material is applied on the high refractive index resin material which is cured on the first glass substrate.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2000Date of Patent: August 20, 2002Assignee: Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kenjiro Hamanaka, Atsunori Matsuda, Satoshi Taniguchi, Daisuke Arai, Takashi Kishimoto, Naoto Hirayama
