The control unit controls the imaging unit to generate first moving image data. In starting transmission of the first moving image data currently being generated by the imaging unit to an external apparatus, the control unit controls the communication unit to automatically transmit second moving image data different from the first moving image data, before starting the transmission of the first moving image data, where second moving image data is recorded in the recording unit.
