  • Patent number: 8487267
Abstract: An ultraviolet irradiation system includes: an ultraviolet irradiation apparatus including a plurality of ultraviolet lamps; a flowmeter configured to measure a flow rate of the water to be treated that passes through the ultraviolet irradiation apparatus; and an ultraviolet-dose monitoring and controlling apparatus configured to monitor an ultraviolet dose of the ultraviolet irradiation apparatus and to control outputs of the ultraviolet lamps. The plurality of ultraviolet lamps include a first ultraviolet lamp and a plurality of second ultraviolet lamps. The ultraviolet irradiation apparatus includes: a first measurement head configured to measure an ultraviolet intensity of the first ultraviolet lamp; and a plurality of second measurement heads configured to respectively measure ultraviolet intensities of the plurality of the ultraviolet lamps. A distance between the first ultraviolet lamp and the first measurement head is set to a determined value.

  • Publication number: 20110058321
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a settlement terminal includes a terminal body, an input unit, a cover member, an elevating unit, and a controller. The input unit is provided on the terminal body and for an operator to operate to input secret information. The cover member is shaped to cover at least both lateral sides of the input unit, as viewed from the side of the operator's standing position. The elevating unit moves the cover member up and down inside and outside the terminal body. The controller drives the elevating unit to move the cover member up to a periphery of the input unit from inside the terminal body, at least when processing involving input of the secret information is executed.

  • Publication number: 20090292391
Abstract: In a checkout counter, a first apparatus is arranged on an entrance side and a second apparatus is arranged on an exit side. Both the first apparatus and the second apparatus are basket housing rack apparatuses of the same type. The basket housing rack apparatuses drive, with driving units, racks attached to bases, which are set on a floor surface, to be freely raised and lowered and raise and lower the racks. Placing sections of the racks set the height of a shopping basket at the top to, for example, the height of a checkout counter and stackably place plural shopping baskets. Control units control to drive the driving units according to a trigger signal such as a closing signal transmitted from a POS terminal, lower the rack of the first apparatus by the height of one shopping basket, and raise the rack of the second apparatus by the height of one shopping basket.

  • Publication number: 20090266899
Abstract: A flat housing has a first surface and a second surface in directions opposite to one another. The second surface has a scanning window. An area imaging element is located in an inner part of the scanning window. An attaching section attaches the housing to a human body of a user. The first surface and the front of the human body face each other. The user positions a code symbol in the front of the human body. A light source illuminates the code symbol. Light from the light source is reflected on the code symbol. The reflected light is received by an area imaging element. The area imaging element images the code symbol. A control unit decodes the code symbol imaged by the area imaging element. A transmitting unit transmits and outputs a result of the decoding of the code symbol.
