  • Patent number: 5852984
Abstract: A vehicle or robot movable in the water includes a body having a first opening in its abdomen. A float is provided at the front portion of the body so that the vehicle body suspends in the water with its front portion up. A pressure reducing device is provided in the body for reducing an inner pressure of the body so as to cause the body to suctionally adhere on a wall in the water with its abdomen facing the wall. A sealing skirt is attached along the first opening formed in the abdomen so that it contacts the wall to maintain the body's inner pressure negative as the body adheres on the wall. A drive unit is also provided in the body for moving the body on the wall. The pressure reducing device includes a hose communicated with the body at its one end and a pump connected with the other end of the hose for pulling water out of the body.

  • Patent number: 5730553
Abstract: A carriage movable in waste including: a body having a float at its upper portion and a weight at its lower portion to suspend in the water, the body having an opening in its abdomen; a thrust fan provided on a back of the body, the fan being rotatable in a normal or reverse direction thereby enabling the body to translate in the water and to suctionally attach itself onto a wall or leave the wall; a skirt provided around the opening formed in the abdomen of the body to contact the wall thereby maintaining the bodies interior to a negative pressure as the body suctionally attaches itself onto the wall; and a drive wheel provided on the abdomen of the body to contact the wall upon suctional attachment on the wall. This underwater carriage can move on a vertical wall, have small dimensions and be lightweight.

  • Patent number: 4679074
Abstract: There is disclosed an image processing apparatus for processing an image signal in which the mode of image processing is rendered variable to adapt to plural input devices. More specifically, a conversion matrix circuit receives image signals from one of a plurality of different input devices and converts the image signals into corrected additive primary color signals red, green and blue. The conversion matrix circuit compensates for any differences in the spectral characteristics of the different input devices. The matrix includes a plurality of conversion tables stored in memory for performing the conversion. A selected one of the conversion tables is addressed by the image signals.
