  • Publication number: 20040013915
Abstract: A fuel cell (1) comprises an anode (9A) and cathode (9B) disposed on either side of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane (8A), and power is generated by supplying hydrogen to the anode (9A) and supplying hydrogen to the cathode (9B). When the temperature of the fuel cell (1) is below 0° C., water in the cell freezes. When a power plant using the fuel cell (1) is warmed up under the temperature less than 0° C., the anode (9A) is connected to the positive electrode of a secondary battery (13) and the cathode (9B) is connected to the negative electrode of the secondary battery (13) to electrolyze frozen water in the cell, thereby thawing the frozen water using the heat accompanying the electrolysis.

  • Patent number: 6545963
Abstract: A data recording medium suitable for an optical disk such as DVD is disclosed. The data recording medium has a plurality of sectors. The sector has a header area to store address information of the sector, a gap area for power calibration of a laser beam used for data recording, a data recording area to store a plurality of modulated codes obtained by modulating the data, a postamble area located immediately after the data recording area, and a buffer area to separate sectors. The modulated code includes information to demodulate a modulated code located immediately before each modulated code. The postamble area stores information to demodulate the final demodulated code in the data recording area. A data pattern stored in the postamble area includes synchronization pattern, and is determined based on a DSV of the data pattern, or satisfying the run length limitation.

  • Publication number: 20030058093
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a fire alarm system for connecting a plurality of fire sensors to sensor lines, and giving an alarm in response to fire information output from the fire sensor in a line unit. The fire alarm system includes a current modulation section and an address specification section. The current modulation section is used for maintaining a current flowing in the sensor line at a predetermined value for a predetermined time at the time of a fire, and modulating the current in accordance with the inherent address information of the fire sensor. The address specification section is used for sensing fire information by judging whether or not the current has been maintained at the predetermined value for the predetermined time, and also for specifying the inherent address of the fire sensor that issued the fire information, from the modulated state of the current.

  • Patent number: 6249220
Abstract: A detected information display system in a fire detecting system of the present invention which is equipped with detectors arranged in a warning area and a control panel and achieves a specified information display on a physical quantity detected by the detectors, includes a secondary conversion part to convert the physical quantity detected by the detector to the specified level, a conversion level storage part to store the converted level, an extraction part to extract the maximum level from the levels stored in the conversion level storage part, and a display part which is equipped with level display parts, and keeps the level display part corresponding to the converted level and the level display part corresponding to the maximum extracted level in a visually different condition from each other. The maximum detected physical quantity and the set value to indicate the abnormal level can be rapidly grasped, and the displays of a plurality of detectors can be displayed in an integrated and related manner.

  • Patent number: 4930095
Abstract: This invention is directed to an output correction system for an analog sensor which outputs an analog signal corresponding to a quantity of state. The output correction system for the analog sensor comprises a control section which receives an output from the analog sensor obtained under condition where the quantity of state is zero and an output from the analog sensor obtained under pseudo-condition equivalent to a certain quantity of state; a first arithmetic section for calculating a gradient on the basis of the output under the zero condition and the output under the pseudo-condition; a storage section for storing output characteristics defined by said gradient; and a second arithmetic section for calculating a quantity of state corresponding to the output from the analog sensor on the basis of the output characteristics defined by the gradient.

  • Patent number: 4821805
Abstract: An automatic fire extinguishing system wherein at least two fire detecting sensors are provided. The sensors are disposed at a distance from each other and movable in the horizontal and vertical directions to scan the region to be protected for detecting the angles of a fire source in the horizontal and vertical directions. A distance to the fire source is obtained from the angles of the fire source detected by the respective sensors. A discharge nozzle is set based on the fire source position determined by the angles and the distance of the fire source.
