Abstract: In a bus type LAN, the data transmitted from a terminal (14) is detected by an adapter (1) connected to one end of a bus (3), and in response thereto the adapter (1) transmits a pulse signal onto the bus (3). An adapter (2) connected to the other end of the bus (3) receives the data transmitted from the terminal (14) and detects its source terminal address. A difference in time between the arrival of the data from the terminal (14) and the arrival of the pulse signal from the adapter (1) is measured by a counter circuit (21), and the count value obtained is stored in a memory (23), forming a pair with the corresponding source terminal address. Thus, the count value can be obtained for each terminal during the normal operation of the LAN. The data of the memory (23) are extracted by a personal computer (5), where the physical position of each terminal is calculated in accordance with the bus propagation velocity, and is displayed or printed out as a physical constitution diagram.

Abstract: A cutter is composed of a blade body and a stem. The blade body has an engage hole made up of a grip hole and a lock hole which is narrower than the grip hole and is extended to and connected with the grip hole. A peripheral portion of the lock hole defines a marginal portion. The stem has a blade body mounting section for supporting the blade body being put thereon. The blade body mounting section includes an engage projection adapted to be fitted in the engage hole of the blade body. The engage projection has a lock groove for receiving the marginal portion. The stem is provided with a push member adapted when controlled to push a first portion, on the side of the grip hole, of the blade body, whereby in response to the pushing action of the push member a second portion, substantially facing the grip hole, of the blade body is curved and separated from the engage projection.

Abstract: A pair of grip scissors is provided which comprises a grip scissor body having a pair of mutually open/close-able scissor segments, a housing case capable of housing therein the grip scissor body movably in the lengthwise direction thereof and of projecting the grip scissor body outward, at least one slide groove formed in the housing case and extending in the lengthwise direction thereof, and a slider coupled to the grip scissor body and movable reciprocatingly along the slide groove of the housing case.
