    Abstract: A high-temperature generator having a high durability and reliability is disclosed. The generator comprises a double shell type furnace body defining a combustion chamber and a liquid chamber surrounding the combustion chamber. A burner is arranged at a front end of the combustion chamber for generating high temperature gas within the combustion chamber. A smoke tube assembly including a plurality of smoke tubes is arranged in the liquid chamber aligned along a longitudinal direction of the furnace body. The rear end of the smoke tube opens to the combustion chamber. A rear wall having a double-wall configuration is provided with an aperture arranged to face the rear end of the smoke tube assembly, and the aperture is covered with a cover plate detachably mounted to the rear wall.

    Abstract: In a film forming vessel, a substrate destined to carry on the surface thereof a thin film to be formed and a magnetron sputtering source integrally composed of an electric field supply means and a main magnetic field supply means for forming magnetron plasma in the neighborhood of the target and concurrently serving as a target holder for retaining a target in place are disposed as opposed to each other. An electromagnet as an auxiliary magnetic field supply means for decreasing the spatially dispersed amount of magnetron plasma in the neighborhood of the surface of the substrate is also laid out in the film forming vessel. A thin film of compound, for example, is formed on the substrate, with the spatially dispersed amount of magnetron plasma in the neighborhood of the surface of the substrate decreased as described above. As a result, the thin film of excellent quality is formed with high repeatability on a large surface area.

    Abstract: A double effect absorption cold or hot water generating machine comprises an absorber A, a low temperature generator GL, a condenser C, a high temperature heat exchanger XH and a low temperature heat exchanger XL, a bypass circuit 20 having a cool/warm switching valve V.sub.1 for directing refrigerant gas from a high temperature generator GH directly to an evaporator E, and a bypass circuit 21 having a cool/warm switching valve V.sub.2 for directing refrigerant liquid from the evaporator directly to a diluted solution circulating system. A high head pump PH is disposed in the solution path between the absorber and the high temperature generator and a low head pump PL is disposed in the solution path between the absorber and the low temperature generator so that the high and low head pumps are driven during a cooling operation, and the high head pump is driven and the low head pump is stopped during a warming operation.

The magnetic field responding part of the magnetoresistance effect film is formed as of the remainder of the MR film region whose magnetic moment is fixed outside the end part of the upper shield layer facing the MA film. The magnetic field responding part is otherwise formed of a protruding part of the magnetoresistance effect film extended in the direction of the surface facing the medium.

A concentrated solution is directed from the generators to the absorber A through a solution spray pump P.sub.3 which is provided with a controller 15 for controlling number of revolutions of the pump on the basis of a signal representative of a level of refrigerant liquid detected by a sensor 14 or concentration of solution so as to effect circulation of the refrigerant solution safely and efficiently. The absorption refrigerating machine can be a double effect absorption refrigerating machine wherein a refrigerant gas generated in a high temperature generator GH is used as a heat source of a low temperature generator GL.

    Abstract: A compact generator for an absorption refrigerating machine that uses combustion gas as a heat source, which enables stable heating. The generator 1 has a dilute solution inlet 3, a solution outlet 4, and a vapor outlet 5. A multiplicity of heat transfer fins 6 are provided on the outer periphery of a drum shell 2 of the generator. A circulation guide 7 is provided along the inner periphery of the drum shell. Openings are respectively provided in the bottom and top of the circulation guide 7. The solution outlet 4 has an overflow weir 10. The vapor outlet 5 has a downwardly facing opening 11 inside the can of the generator. The dilute solution inlet 3 is provided with a mixing chamber 20 which is separated from the solution in the drum shell of the generator and where the solution in the drum shell and dilute solution from the dilute solution inlet mix with each other.

    Abstract: An absorption refrigeration system incorporating a novel solution flow control is disclosed. The solution flow control includes a sensor, preferably in the form of a float which senses the level of the solution in the absorber of the system. The signal from the level sensor is utilized to position a valve for controlling the flow of weak solution in such a manner that the solution flow increases/decreases as the level of the solution in the absorber decreases/increases. The solution control not only provides improved efficiency of the refrigeration system but also protects the system from the risk of crystallization of the solution. In one embodiment, a compact solution control is fully enclosed by an air-tight shell of the absorber and comprises a float, a rod mechanically and drivingly coupling the float with a solution valve so that the buoyancy of the float directly positions the valve. This arrangement does not need to meet the requirement of having an air tight structure and assures a long life in use.
