  • Patent number: 6903898
Abstract: A pressure-sensitive adhesive label has a base having an information indication portion on its one surface thereof, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on another surface of the base. After peeling a release liner, the label is stuck on an outer surface of a housing of the hard disk drive to reduce noise generated when the hard disk drive is driven. The release liner for coating the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer has an antistatic function and a cut line. The adhesive force of the adhesive layer is reduced by heating. The label has a surface density of not lower than 0.18 (kg/m2).

  • Patent number: 6636378
Abstract: A pressure sensitive adhesive label for a hard disk drive includes a substrate, an information indicator formed on one side of the substrate, and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer formed on the other side of the substrate. By applying onto the outer surface of a housing of a hard disk drive, the pressure sensitive adhesive label can reduce noise caused by operation of the hard disk drive. The pressure sensitive adhesive label for a hard disk drive can concurrently exhibit various information indicating functions and the function of reducing noise caused by operation of a hard disk drive. By using the pressure sensitive adhesive label, a method can reduce noise caused by operation of a hard disk drive.

  • Publication number: 20020081426
Abstract: The present invention provides a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet having superior release properties of a sheet material and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and a sheet material having a release function suitable for the sheet. The present invention provides a single layer or laminate sheet material having a release function for a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet, wherein the sheet material itself when it is a single layer, and at least one of the outermost layers when it is a laminate, is made from a resin material containing a linear ethylene resin as a main component, and the resin material shows an amount of an eluted component at not more than 30° C. of 3 wt %−30 wt % of the entire resin material, as measured by a Temperature Rising Elution Fractionation, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet that uses the sheet material.

  • Patent number: 6395360
Abstract: Provided is a release liner formed of a plastic film having a laminated structure of at least three layers, described specifically, as two surface layers, (A) a release functioning layer composed of a polyethylene film having a density of 0.88 to 0.92 g/cm3 and a melt index not greater than 10 g/10 minutes and (B) a surface film layer having a thermal linear expansion coefficient similar to that of said release functioning layer and, as an intermediate layer, (C) a reinforcement layer having a melting point not less than 120° C. By forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on the surface of the release functioning layer (A) of the above-described release liner, a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet can be obtained. The release liner exhibits good release function without using a silicone-base releasing agent and has heat resistance sufficient for not causing deformation such as curl even when heat is applied to the liner.

  • Patent number: 6030702
Abstract: A sheet for protecting paint films of automobiles for adhering to the incompletely cured paint films of automobiles comprising two pack urethane paint, the sheet comprising a support and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed thereon, wherein the sheet has a Young's modulus E of at least 75 N/mm.sup.2 and a coefficient of flexural stress k represented by the formula k=Eh.sup.3 wherein h is a thickness of the support, of 0.035 or less. The protective sheet can uniformly protect the paint films and easily be peeled and removed therefrom without causing environmental problems and adhesive remaining of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. Even when the sheet is adhered to incompletely cured paint films of automobiles and they are allowed to stand for a long period of time under an outside high temperature in summer, the sheet does not cause the deformation of the paint film and the microdeformations by the deformation of the paint film at the edge portion of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer.
