Patent number: 7152526Abstract: Disclosed is a surface treated doctor blade in which the surface of at least the blade edge portion thereof consists of a surface treatment coating film composed of a first layer consisting of a specific nickel-based plating and a second layer provided thereon which has low surface energy, and in which preferably at least a part of the blade edge end portion of the blade base material is exposed. In the surface treated doctor blade of the present invention, it is possible to improve wear resistance of the blade edge end and to suppress generation of printing failures during continuous printing. Further, in the mode in which at least a part of the blade base material is exposed, it is possible to reduce running-in time for adjustment of contact of the blade edge with the cylinder after replacement of the doctor blade.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2002Date of Patent: December 26, 2006Assignee: Nihon New Chrome Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuya Urata, Naoyuki Oniwa, Kunio Tachibana

Patent number: 7150781Abstract: The invention relates to a pyrophosphoric acid bath for use in cyanogen-free copper-tin alloy plating that contains an additive (A) composed an amine derivative, an epihalohydrin and a glycidyl ether compound with ratios of epihalohydrin to glycidyl ether compound being 0.5–2 to 0.1–5 on mol basis, per 1 mol of the amine derivative, has a pH of 3 to 9, and optionally contains an additive (B) composed of an organic sulfonic acid and/or an organic sulfonic acid salt, and to a copper-tin alloy coating obtainable by using the bath. The invention provides a pyrophosphoric acid bath for use in copper-tin alloy plating of the cyanogen-free type utilizable on an industrial scale, particularly, capable of performing uniform treatment to exhibit low defective product generation rates even with the current density being incessantly changing between a high state and a low state, as a barrel plating method, and a copper-tin alloy coating obtainable by using the bath.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2003Date of Patent: December 19, 2006Assignee: Nihon New Chrome Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuya Urata, Kunio Tachibana, Naoyuki Oniwa, Mikiya Tajima, Yukio Ogawa

Patent number: 5013410Abstract: The invention relates to a plated steel sheet for cans which must have high workability and corrosion resistance and can prevent bimetallic corrosion and a method of manufacturing the same. The plated steel sheet is manufactured by forming an electroplated chromium layer on the surface of a steel, removing a hydrated chromium oxide layer formed on the surface of the chromium layer, and forming an aluminum plating layer, so that the electroplated chromium layer and the aluminum plating layer are stacked in direct contact with each other. Another plated steel sheet is manufactured by forming a vacuum deposited chromium layer on the surface of a steel, and forming an aluminum plating layer.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 1990Date of Patent: May 7, 1991Assignee: NKK CorporationInventors: Hiroshi Kagechika, Tadahiko Mishima, Yoshinori Yomura, Hiroshi Ishikawa, Naoyuki Oniwa, Yoshihiko Yasue, Hiroshi Kibe

Patent number: 4940522Abstract: A method of manufacturing a plated steel sheet for cans which must have a good outer appearance for printing and high image clarity. The method comprises forming a plating layer directly on the surface of a steel sheet having an average central surface roughness of 0.10 .mu.m or less, the plating layer being formed by vacuum deposition. The plating layer is a metal or a metal alloy, has a thickness of from 0.01 to 5 .mu.m, and has a high image clarity.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 1989Date of Patent: July 10, 1990Assignee: NKK CorporationInventors: Hiroshi Kagechika, Tadahiko Mishima, Yoshinori Yomura, Hiroshi Ishikawa, Naoyuki Oniwa, Yoshihiko Yasue
