  • Publication number: 20240113986
Abstract: Various embodiments include an automobile network device that includes a descriptor sorting engine (DSE). The DSE may include a direct memory access (DMA) controller, a memory organized by channel clusters that each include a plurality of first-in first-out (FIFO) memories, a timer, and a time stamp (TS) sorting logic component. The DMA controller may be configured to pull timestamp-pointer pairs from packet descriptors stored in an unsorted descriptor ring memory, store the timestamp-pointer pairs in the FIFO memories, trigger the TS sorting logic component to reorder the timestamp-pointer pairs in the FIFO memories so that they are sorted in ascending order, use the sorted timestamp-pointer pairs in the FIFO memories to read the packet descriptors stored in an unsorted descriptor ring memory, and store the packet descriptors in a sorted descriptor ring memory.

  • Patent number: 11949623
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating autonomous synchronization are disclosed herein. For example, a UE may be configured to perform an initial synchronization directly to PSCCH and PSSCH when other synchronization sources, such as GNSS, a base station, and/or SLSS, are unavailable. An example method for wireless communication at a user equipment includes receiving a PSCCH. The example method also includes performing an initial synchronization based on the PSCCH. In some examples, the method may also include receiving a PSSCH, and determining a logical subframe number modulo 10 based on the PSSCH. The logical subframe number modulo 10 may correspond to a sequence seed.

  • Publication number: 20170264719
Abstract: Methods for adding timestamps to packets from data streams in a computing network may include receiving, in a processor in the computing network, a plurality of data streams and building, by the processor a first packet from a first data stream in the plurality of data streams. The processor may further determine a value of a first timestamp for outputting the first packet that satisfies one or more parameters of the first data stream, add the first timestamp to the first packet, and hand over the first packet to a network device in the computing network.

  • Publication number: 20160224053
Abstract: Timer-based processing unit operational scaling employing timer resetting on idle process scheduling is disclosed. In one aspect, a timer controls scheduling of a processing unit utilization process to perform operational scaling of a processing unit. The timer expiration triggers an interrupt to schedule the processing unit utilization process to scale operational performance. To avoid the need for frequent execution of the processing unit utilization process, the processing unit is first configured to determine if an idle process is scheduled for execution at timer expiration before interrupt generation. If the idle process is scheduled, this is an inherent indication that the processing unit is not over-utilized, because otherwise, the idle process would not be scheduled. If the idle process is scheduled, the interrupt to schedule the processing unit utilization process is not generated, and the timer is reset.
