Patent number: 11739419Abstract: Improved thin film coatings, cutting tool materials and processes for cutting tool applications are disclosed. A boron-doped graded diamond thin film for forming a highly adhesive surface coating on a cemented carbide (WC—Co) cutting tool material is provided. The thin film is fabricated in a HFCVD reactor. It is made of a bottom layer of BMCD in contact with a surface layer of the cemented carbide, a top layer made of NCD and a transition layer with a decreasing concentration gradient of boron obtained by changing the reaction conditions through ramp up option in hot filament CVD reactor. The top layer has a low friction coefficient. The bottom layer in the coating substrate interface has better interfacial adhesion through cobalt and boron reactivity and decreased cobalt diffusivity in the diamond. The transition layer has minimized lattice mismatch and sharp stress concentration between the top and bottom layers.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2018Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Assignee: INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY MADRAS (IIT MADRAS)Inventors: Kannan Ramasubramaniyan, Narayanan Arunachalam, Ramachandra Rao

Patent number: 11736643Abstract: The present disclosure discloses methods and systems for managing multiple scan requests received at a multi-function device. The method includes receiving a scan request from a remote computing device of a remote user. Before executing the scan request, two conditions are checked. It is checked if document is present on a scanning platform of the multi-function device and further it is checked if one or more activities on a user interface of the multi-function device, are being performed. Based on the presence of the document on the scanning platform and the one or more activities on the user interface, the scan request received from the remote user is disallowed. This way, multiple scanned requests are managed at the multi-function device.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2022Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Shankaranarayanan Thillainayagam, Sudhakar Navamani, Surendranath Narayanan Arunachalam, Umapathy Bomman

Patent number: 10365915Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to maintaining up to date software version data in a network. In particular, it relates to accessing a network topology that records node data and connection data including processes running on numerous hosts grouped into local services on the hosts, the local services running on multiple hosts grouped into service clusters and sub-clusters of service clusters, and network connections used by the service clusters to connect the hosts grouped into service connections. It further relates to collecting current software version information for the processes, updating the network topology with the current software version for particular process running on a particular host when it differs from a stored software version in the network topology, reassigning the particular host to a sub-cluster within the service cluster according to the current software version, and monitoring the updated sub-cluster within the service cluster.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2016Date of Patent: July 30, 2019Assignee: Lightbend, Inc.Inventors: Abhinav A. Vora, Aiyesha Lowe Ma, Amit Sasturkar, Oliver Kempe, Narayanan Arunachalam, Alan Ngai, Vishal Surana, Omer Emre Velipasaoglu

Patent number: 8346752Abstract: In a computer system that has no single place to discover all installed software applications, a software title discovery technique uses a combination of techniques to discover installed software. One of the combined techniques is an operating system predefined interface for obtaining information about installed software application; other techniques that may be employed include searching a repository of uninstall information, searching for executable files in a portion of a filesystem for the computer, and searching for executable files pointed to by other files in the filesystem of the computer system. A client/server configuration may be employed to allow collection of the software application information across a network of computers in an enterprise by a server computer system, allowing the server system to provide reports regard installed software applications.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2009Date of Patent: January 1, 2013Assignee: BMC Software, Inc.Inventors: Joshua Stephen Sirota, Narayanan Arunachalam
