Abstract: Systems and methods for generating margin sensitive pricing quotation in an integrated price adjustment system including: a) selecting products in selected product sets; b) providing pricing data corresponding to the products in selected product sets; c) providing guidance elements for products in selected product sets wherein guidance elements are margin sensitive; d) calculating guidance prices for products based upon guidance elements; e) selecting one of either pricing data or guidance prices; and f) generating a quotation based upon selections made such that margin sensitive pricing adjustments are incorporated into quotations. In some example embodiments, the present invention further includes providing predetermined suggestions for modifying the quotation.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for preparing a price quote for a product. The product is selected from among a plurality of products. A determination is made as to whether the product is a member of a particular product collection. This determination includes evaluating a dynamic selection rule set associated with the particular product collection. When the product is determined to be a member of the particular product collection, the method includes the additional steps of (i) identifying one or more price rules associated with the particular product collection and (ii) applying these price rules to the product in order to determine the price quote for the product.

Abstract: A method for computing a price quote for a product using a contract. The method includes identifying the set of price rules for a plurality of products associated with the contract. Each price rule in the set of price rules is either a hard price rule or a soft price rule. Each hard price rule includes a price rule expression and a price rule type and each soft price rule comprises a price rule type. A collection of price rules is generated including, for each soft rule in the set of price rules, hard price rules that are associated with the product and that have the same price rule type as the soft price rule. Hard price rules that are associated with the contract are also added to the collection of price rules. A pricing scheme that is to be used in order to determine the price quote for the product is selected and used to resolve the hard price rules in the collection of price rules in order to determine the price quote.

Abstract: To achieve the foregoing and in accordance with the present invention, methods and systems of overriding inherited pricing structure properties in a hierarchically organized integrated price adjustment system are presented. The methods include the steps of providing hierarchically organized product line pricing structures in a common inheritance path where one hierarchically organized product line pricing structures is a root level product line pricing structure and where all other hierarchically organized product line pricing structures are configured to inherit at least one property from the root level product line pricing structure; modifying, by user input, a property of a hierarchically organized product line pricing structures; updating all hierarchically organized product line pricing structures above the product line pricing structure having the modified property where only product line pricing structures in the common inheritance path are updated such that hierarchical inheritance is overridden.

Methods are described for maintaining referential integrity between data tables which may be freely moved to various remote workstations--ones which do not have ready access to a centrally-maintained data dictionary. The system provides each table with descriptors for tracking referential integrity links or relationships among various tables, regardless of a particular situs where a table resides. A preferred interface is also described for permitting end-users to easily define referential integrity links between data tables.
